Mud Biscuits For Meals, Anyone? (Pity Those Who Eat These "Foods")

Addendum

This addendum was placed because of the message sent by my good friend Shiela (Bluebirdy).

Actually dear Brothers and Sisters, THERE IS SOMETHING WE CAN DO! There are reputable, HONEST agencies that help these people, and as little as $1 can get medical treatment for a whole family, food for a month, education for a child, vitamins to prevent blindness, or even leprosy treatment. When I had a bigger income, I sponsored 1 child for 60 cents a day, and sent it once a month, and it took care of the food, housing, education and medical of the whole family of that child! I can no longer do that much, but I can give a little.
I remember a Bible story and I wish I could find it now, where Jesus says it is good to pray, but if we are able to actually do something, it is sinful to just say "Oh pray for the hungry, and the naked" but to do nothing about it. If you are too poor to help, that is a different story. The Lord understands, but if the Lord has given you much, you should be happy to give.
Here are a couple of agencies you can look at to see if you want to donate.
Food and many other daily life services such as education, health, housing, clean water:
Leprosy
Here is one that gives poor people loans of $25 so they can start their own business and be self sufficient. When they pay you back, you can either take your money back, or use that $25 to help another person:
Here you can buy pig, chickens, cow, seeds for growing vegetables, so many gifts of livelihood:
There are 2 mottos we can think of. "If not me, who? If not now, when? -Hilell
"Think Globally, act locally." There are poor and starving in your own communities that you could help, and if you want to reach out internationally, those organizations that I mentioned help you do that too.
Look at the scriptures about tithing, giving 1/10th of your income to the poor in the Bible. Giving 1/.10th of your income is paying back God for all that He gives us. He is so generous He allows us to keep 9/10ths of all, and asks for 1/10th to help others, and here is His promise:
Malachi 3:10-Bring your tithes...and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Blessings,
Bluebirdy

Mud cakes are dried in the sun

Pretty shapes these mud biscuits are
Mud cakes and biscuits will be transported to markets for sale
There's just too much hunger in the world

This is how they process those mud cakes and biscuits

This tragic story and its accompanying pictures were emailed to me by my good friend and guardian angel- Shiela (Bluebirdy- Living 4 Hours At A Time) who, although suffering from lupus and other debilitating and painful diseases, have spent her precious time ministering to the spiritual needs of others. God bless you abundantly my dear sister in Christ. Before we partake of the sumptuous meals in our dinner tables, let us utter prayers for these people in Haiti and other impoverished countries in Africa and Asia whose main fare for the day are sun baked mud biscuits. So many food are wasted in America, Japan, Europe and other affluent countries, enough to feed these hungry souls who could barely eat one square meal a day. If you have money to spare, send them to the appropriate UN agencies that are taking care of feeding the hungry people of the world.

This kind of putty biscuit
is made from clay, salt and vegetable oil or margarine, Haiti people call it "the special thunder", price 5 cents
The local merchant transports with a truck one kind of unique soil from the middle mountainous area to each market place. After the women purchase the soil, they process the soil to make the biscuits at the neighbor's workshop.
They bring the barrel of soil to the roof top, picking out the stones and the lumps, then the soil is mixed with salt and oil. Afterwards, they pinch the soil into a small cake shape under the hot sun. The processed biscuit is brought to the market for selling.

An Associated Press reporter has tasted one of "the special thunder". He said that this kind of biscuit has a moist taste. After eating for several hours, the taste of unbearable soil flavor still lingers in the mouth. American Colorado State University immunology Professor Gerald Callaghan said these people believed that the pregnant women who eat the soil can strengthen the womb and embryo's immunity, to resist disease. But parasites and toxins in the soil can be fatal to the human body. Local doctors said that the long-term dependence on putty biscuit can cause malnutrition and diarrhea.
Haiti is one of the of poorest countries in the world, 80% of the population's average earnings is less than two US dollars per person each month. Eating of the putty biscuit is due to the recent rising food price.

The Last Curtain Call (A Short Story)

Your most productive years may have been behind you now and you spend your time in utter loneliness and isolation, reliving your glorious past. Before, you were used to the praise and adulation of your millions of fans, but now you are left alone, staring on a blank wall where the sound of silence seems so deafening. Ah yes, you could still hear the applauses, the laughter, the celebration every time your name was called during curtain calls. Your name was on everyone's lips and dashing gentlemen made a beeline to hand you their bouquet of flowers. You have them all, boxes of chocolates, endless greeting cards, love notes- everything that reminded you of the tumultuous glory days of your life. People swooned when they heard your voice, and each end of your production numbers were greeted with thunderous applauses and endless calls for an encore.

Ah, you remember your past loves, the endless queues of men in your life. The fabulous places you have reached, the how do you do's with the high and mighty in your heyday. You have been around the world living in the adulation of your legions of fans. You savored each inebriating moment of your existence. You transferred from arms to arms, intoxicated by the love abundantly poured on your lap by your countless lovers. But you had your final curtain call. You are no longer famous. You are no longer beautiful. The voice that has so captivated millions of souls have now been reduced to a croaking and melancholy voice.

And as you look at the empty wall on a cramped room you are renting, you felt the hot tears of loneliness and grief falling from your eyes, gliding down your face. You closed your eyes and relived once more in your mind the glory days of your youth, when the world adored the beautiful and marvelous you. That was your very last curtain call. Early next morning, the porter of the hotel found a lifeless corpse of an old and emaciated woman still clutching in her hand her favorite photograph.

Self Fulfilling Prophecy

 SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY
When was the last time we worry about so many things and found out later that all our worse fears came true? When was the last time we berated our kids about their faults and told them they will grow up someday to become good for nothing? And when was the last time we nag our spouse on his/her obvious faults? Beware, all that we profess with our mouths may become self fulfilling prophecies. Remember, we have the power to bless or curse anybody by the power of the spoken words. And more often than not, negative pronouncements carry with them intense emotional undertones that are more liable to become true.

Kids believe whatever their parents say to them. Parental pronouncements are imbedded deep in their subconscious minds and they are liable to act out the roles delineated to them by their parents. So we must be very careful what we say to our kids, to our spouses and even to ourselves in moments of anger and emotional outbursts. We do not want the things that we say to them or to ourselves to find realization, do we not?

Better to give positive love affirmations and encouragements to our kids, our spouses and even to ourselves. They will even reinforce the good traits imbedded in their characters. Careful, careful!

Some body parts and bones are sold to Universities in various parts of the world. Leg bones are exported to pharmacies in Ireland and Germany to make tooth-fillings which is popular in Europe .

Be Inspired By Nick Vujicic (Life Without Limbs)

Baby Nick Vujicic born without limbs
Nick Vujicic giving glory to God by his personal testimonies

Born in Australia from a Pastor father and a Christian mother on December 4, 1982. He was born without legs and arms and yet he lived to give glory to God by his indomitable spirit. Nick Vujicic is a motivational speaker and the director for Life Without Limbs, an organization that is for the physically disabled.

God does not look at man's ability (for He enables those who are willing), He looks at man's availability. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Let us pray that the Lord of harvest will send more workers to the fields.

See this video and marvel at God's glory manifested in this person's life.

The Pursuit of Happiness

 PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
This is the most abused term nowadays. Everybody seems to be always in pursuit of happiness. Happiness is something very temporary. It is the attainment of a short term goal. It is the satisfaction of the immediate needs of man. But is the pursuit of happiness beneficial to man in the long run? Remember, the pursuit of happiness is anchored in the immediate gratification of man's wants. People call it freedom to do what they want to do, without any restrictions , without any fear. They call it freedom from fear. But where does this pursuit of happiness leads man?

To tell you the truth, it leads man to perdition and eventually, to slavery to sin. Sin is something man enjoys for it is a violation of a restriction or command, and man loves to violate every command and every restriction there is. But John 8:34 says, "Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin." Why? Because although sin is enjoyable at the start, it becomes addictive, and without man noticing it, it eventually becomes the master of the sinful man. It attains a life of its own. Man, who used to enjoy and wallow in sin, now becomes entangled in its deadly web and is unable to disobey the harsh voice of its tyrant master and break free from its strangle hold. And man becomes more miserable than when he first started.

Not only did he veer away from the dictates of his conscience, he has chained himself to slavery under the grip of the lord of this world- Satan. And in the end, the pursuit of happiness becomes a short cut on the road to hell. The Bible warns us about this when it says, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13-14) Let us be included in the few who enters the narrow gate and eventually finds eternal life.
