A PUBLIC APOLOGY

I'm sorry. I am very, very sorry to all who were terribly hurt by my post-
Bipolar Planet. I extend this heartfelt apology. I never meant to hurt any of you.
I realized that I committed a serious offense when I posted my personal perceptions of Bipolar Planet, unmindful of the hurts they will bring to those who are already suffering from a terrible malady. It's like rubbing salt to an open wound.

Yes, we have freedom of expression, but this must be self limited by the countervailing rights of others to their own sense of dignity and due respect. I may have the best intentions in writing that post, but they can never mitigate nor justify the hurting of others nor of offending their sensibilities. As they say, "the road to hell is paved with all good intentions."

Again, I am really, terribly sorry for all the troubles I caused you all. Please forgive an old foolish man like me. The green blossom above is my peace offering to you all. God bless you all.

hi mel,

i understand exactly where you were coming from, and i understand the other commenters' points also. you had a purpose for writing what you did and from the viewpoint that you took it, and you never know who might have read it and understood what you were trying to get across. not everyone always understands our intentions. at least you knew the repercussions when you wrote the article, and sometimes it's like that, we both know.

your humility and willingness to apologize are very heartfelt, and i hope your apology will be accepted. it takes a big person to apologize and sincerely mean it.

I'm not hurting, Mel. I respect your deep humility in apologizing and hope this doesn't leave you feeling too too badly. I understand what led you to write what you did.

I'm not thinking badly of you at all. You're too good a person.

All is forgiven. I understand you were just expressing your point of view. I hope you took the advice that was given and did some research on the topic.

Mel, I hope you're just on holidays and that this is why you haven't been around. If it's because of the pain you feel about that post, please know all is forgiven - truly, truly, truly.

WE MISS YOU AND NEED YOU.

And please check Sarah's blog. You'd be so happy with where she's at right now.
