Are You A Worry Wart?

 ARE YOU A WORRY WART?
Are you a worry wart? If so, you are in deep trouble. Worrying leads to so many diseases like hypertension, ulcer, obesity, anorexia nervosa, sleeplessness, tension reactions, restlessness, loss of appetite, neuralgia, and so many other diseases. It attacks the brain and nerve functions of the body. Excessive worrying can also lead to severe nervous breakdown and weakening of the immune system. At the back of worrying is the fear and dread of something awful that is forthcoming. It is like the proverbial sword of Damocles hanging in the air over our heads.

The antidote to worrying is complete trust in God and in His inherent goodness. Those whose trust in God is intact and solid never worry because they believe in His promise that He will never leave them nor forsake them. Even in the direst situations, when everything seems impossible and we feel the whole weight of the world crushing down upon us, we just have to surrender all our cares and troubles to the Lord and He will lead us to the way of deliverance we never imagined before. Have we not overcome all the severest trials in the past when we put our trust in Him? Surely, He will do it again and give us the peace of mind we so long for. Those whose hearts do not rest on the Lord have only themselves to blame if worrying becomes their normal fare. As it is, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.

Worrying over a problem does not provide a solution for it. It only makes things worse. After observing a situation critically and i find no physical possible solution within my reach, I hand it over to God. If a solution is His will, then it is solved. If not, I don't question him.

Hi Sameera,
Worrying only befuddles our mind and keep us from having a clear and lucid mind to sort things out. Worrying magnifies a problem a hundred fold. It is best to just acknowledge the problem at hand and be Spirit sensitive to get the answer to our pressing problem. Yes we must do our part and we cannot just stand idle and do nothing. But the inspiration on what to do must come from God. That is purposeful and inspired thinking. Thanks for your visit and personal concerns. I really appreciate that. God bless you and your loved ones always my dear friend.

Hi UncleChe,
You hit the bullseye my friend. Our God wants us to be dependent on Him and turn all our cares to Him. Then He will inspire us to the solution to our problems. Sometimes He uses out of this world means to deliver us out of our predicaments. Thanks for your visit and valuable comments my friend. God bless you and your loved ones always.

I have been guilty of being a worrier! It's hard not to sometimes, but like the Bible says, God takes care of even the sparrows, wo why worry? :)

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Jlee,
We just have to acknowledge the problem and turn it over to the Lord. No use fretting over it since worrying never solves one's problem. Thanks for your visit and comments my friend. God bless you always.

Hi sis Pia,
It's best to acknowledge a problem and see its dimension and how it will affect us. After that, we can turn over the problem to the Lord and become sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. That way our problem becomes God's problem too and not ours alone. That's a lot better than fretting and worrying. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always my dear friend.

Hi sis Wendy,
Not only that sister, we honor God by sharing our problems with Him. He is our heavenly Father who will never leave us nor forsake us. We acknowledge His sovereignty over us when we share with Him, all our cares and problems. Thanks for your visit and comments my dear sister in Christ. Take care of yourself and your baby. God bless you all.

Hi Ester,
Yes, we could be worried at our first encounter with a problem, who would not be. But continuous and excessive worrying and fretting will only complicate the problem and will not lead to any solution. Better to turn over the problem to God and wait for the inspiration from the Holy Spirit on what we must do. If we believe in God's love and divine providence for us, then there is no room for us to fret or worry. As Romans 8:28 says, "All things work together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." God will always test our faith. Thanks for your visit and comments my friend. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Hi Krystyna,
How right you are my dear friend. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Hi Caca,
Yes, that will make a lot of difference. Proverbs 3:5-6 said, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." With God directing our paths, how can we fail? Thanks for your visit. God bless.

I guess a lot of people worry about things that did not happen yet. When we worry we stop living in the present. There are really times that I worry but i do try not to.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Shielalu.
Worrying does not add anything to us. It can even cause us sleepless nights and the onset of disease. Better to just acknowledge the problem at hand and turn it over to the Lord. That way, you have God as your companion to solve your problem. Just be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit for the creative solution to your problem. Thanks for visiting and for your comments. God bless.

Worry is not trusting the Father. There are so many Scriptural passages that God says not to worry.
I can testify that God always provides what we need , not what we want. He knows what's best for us. We grew up so poor and we didn't know when our next meal will be coming or when our next rent will be coming. But the good Lord always provides us with our meal and money to pay rent at the right time.
The Lord God is also our Mighty Provider, our Strength and Refuge.
