For Whom The Bells Toll

"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in
mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the
bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

by Ernest Hemingway
For Whom The Bells Toll

Just recently, one of the most popular action star in the Philippines died at the young age of 56 after battling cancer for two years. Previous to that, the King of Philippine movies died of cerebral stroke even though he was at the pink of his health. The list could go on and on. People with debilitating and dreaded diseases surviving their sicknesses and incredibly living on for an indefinite number of years while people who seemed to be relatively healthy, falling on the wayside.

Only God knows who will go and who will stay. The bells will toll for those they are intended to be tolled for. No amount of money or riches can buy an indefinite extension of one's life. Money may buy human organs to replace malfunctioning ones, but this will only add a few years to the buyer's life. In the end, he has to face the music and go with the ebb and flow of life. For what has been written and destined will be accomplished according to His divine plan. We can only bow our heads and accede to the fact that "for whom the bells toll, it tolls for thee." ARE WE PREPARED TO MEET OUR CREATOR?

Very true Mel.These days, incidences of heart attacks in twenties and strokes in teenagers are on the rise.Human lifestyle and changing trends are to blame. When the bells toll, they don't wait. It's up to us to delay them by the way we live, both mentally and physically.

Take care my friend.God Bless You and your loved ones always.

Hi Sameera,
We view the inevitability of death for everyone. When our allotted lifespan on earth is reached, the bells toll for us and nobody can stop death from claiming his victim. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always my dear friend.

that's one thing i am afraid of - not death, but whether am i ready to face the Creator...

I agree with Ell Wind- whether am I ready to face the Creator?

Nobody is sure, young or old, what will be tomorrow. Our life should be like as it will be our last day. What wil be, will be. Only God's will.
Thank you Mel! Great post!

God bless you and your family!

Hi Eel Wind,
We should not be afraid to face our Creator if we have held on to His promises and live our lives according to His will. Did not the Father promise that anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have eternal life? (John 3: 16) We must have that assurance otherwise we will be fearing always for the rest of our lives. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless.

Hi Krystyna,
That is the reason why we must be so grounded on the word of God and His divine promises so that we can have the assurance of salvation and spending eternity with Him. We make Christ the center of our lives and we do everything for His glory alone. If we do this, there is no reason why we shall fall away and be lost. We must put our trust in the Holy Spirit and His power and strength and not on our own strength. "Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit said the Lord Almighty." (Zechariah 4: 6b) Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always my dear friend.

Hi Tey,
Yes, we should live each day as though it is our last so that we can give our best in everything we do. We should savor the love and warmth of our loved ones. We should tell those sweet words to the people we should tell them to. And we should make amends with those we have encountered conflicts before. So we become ready each day to face our Creator. Thanks for your visit and comments my friend. God bless you always.

Hi Fingertalks,
That's a superb news. Congratulations. A baby is always a welcome news for everyone. Please take care of yourself and your baby. I will pray for you and your baby's health and welfare. Writing is therapeutic and a vehicle of expression, but taking care of your baby inside you takes priority over all other concerns. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you and your loved ones always my dear friend.
