BFF (Best Friend Forever)

True friendship is sweeter than honey. It is more lasting than one's fondest memories. True friends are indeed very rare like a perfect diamond. Have we remembered the friends we had since childhood? They were our playmates, our companions in our adventures through life. And when we grew older, true friends became our confidante, our immovable strength in times of troubles, the ever present shoulder we could lean and cry on. We cannot go on through life without the presence of our true friends who encouraged us in every new venture we seek in life, in every uncertain portals we were about to enter, and in every relationship we were about to enter. Theirs were the words of wisdom, love and caring that never fail to appease us in our moments of trials.

I had my own shares of friends in my life. They came and had gone as I traversed my own paths in life. But their memories lingered on. In my life, I have always been a drifter. I had moved from place to place, from one work to another. And whenever I closed a chapter in my life, it left a bittersweet memory in my soul. My wife has been my best friend forever. Through thick and thin, we held on to each other, braving the storms that came our way. But now she is in the US to work for our family. And I was left alone lonely and desolate. I know we have to make that sacrifice for our children's future. I have to be the father and mother of our children. And as I feel the pangs of death beckoning to me, I realized that I have a truly and constant best friend forever in my whole life who was always there for me through thick and thin, and through the lowest moments of my life. His name? JESUS CHRIST.

Such a beautiful and true post.. Mel.

I have been blessed to still have one of my oldest childhood friends. i was 4 and she was 5 when we first met and we had our 50th anniversary of friendship this summer. :)

We were in each other's weddings and maintained our close friendship even tho we didn't live near each other until the last 20 years. We're both only children too and so we are like sisters or the closest we have to one on earth.

Mel..what did you mean by pangs of death? are you alright?

God bless you and your family Mel. :)

Like you Tito Mel, my one true BFF is my better-half and I can just imagine how hard it is when you're so far away from the one you loved and trusted the most...

But yes, aside from our lifetime- partners, there's one true BFF who has never left us...HE remained, kept us warm and safe...HE loved us despite our flaws...He is Jesus Christ. Thanks a lot Bro!

Hi Seaspray,
It is really wonderful to hear again from you. I am privileged every time you visit my blog. It is nice to know that you have a best friend way back from your childhood days. God had blessed you both to have each other. I am always praying to God to lengthen my days for the sake of my children. The sicknesses I have all these years have been closing in on me and I really feel weakened as the days go by. My only consolation is God's promise in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Thanks again for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mel..I have been reading you in bloglines and I apologize for not commenting more often.

I am sorry to hear you have been having more health concerns. I prayed for you and will continue to do so.

Yes..that is a great verse.

I know how frustrating and concerning it is when one doesn't feel well. i am going through some things I haven't blogged about and I just want to feel better so I can get on with my life and get a much needed job, etc. It seems I get through one thing and then something else and I feel embarrassed like people must be wondering if it is in my mind (it's not)and I feel bad that I'm not working yet. I don't tell people how I really feel and keep believing I will feel better. i discuss some things.

I see it as a difficult season and a transitional phase of my life. I had gotten sick with urology issues back in jan 06 and that was an up and down roller coaster. i will be having a procedure to determine if my ureter is staying open in Oct. i pray it is so that I can avoid the high risk surgery. there have been other things and so I haven't worked since May 06 and I need to.

My mother died in April and I knew I'd be sad.. but you can't know what that is like until you actually experience it. and the grief is worse because I have guilt that I could've done things better or I should've seen she was beginning to fail last summer and I didn't or I went into denial.

Life can be complicated.

It would be nice if you could all move here so you can all be together. i worked with a nurse who did what your family is doing and then they all eventually came here.

Maybe it would be helpful to you to have your best friend near by. I know..these things can't always be as we'd like.

One of my favorite Bible verses is "I will never leave you or forsake you.

I love knowing that no matter what..he is with us all. It is I who leave him sometimes.

I thought the verse was I will never leave you or forsake you, but will be with you til the end of time or always.. but couldn't find it.

I hope you have a beautiful day Mel. :)

Hi Seaspray,
No problem with my health since I leave everything to God. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to actually seek medical help. I leave everything to God. I feel that if I seek the competent advice of doctors I will be dying more since I was already diagnosed to undergo three emergency operations almost three years ago. I'm still alive after that. I just leave everything to God and I pray that I be given the grace of an extension in life for the sake of our children. We still cannot go to America since the papers of my wife are still not in order. Thank you so much for your prayers. I really appreciate that very much. I am also praying for your complete healing. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Grace,
She's really your best friend forever. After 16 long years of friendship and after being separated by the vast expanse of ocean, you still find time to chat with each other everyday. You are each other's
best friend forever indeed. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
