God's Sovereignty

The reason why some people could not cope up with idea of God is because, they do not have an intimate knowledge of God. They think of God based on their outdated or erroneous idea of Him. They put God in a box and expect God to act the way they want Him to act. Thus, you will hear such words from them as, 'where is God at this moment? Does He not care what happens to us? ' These statements and other statements of hurts and doubts are so common in times of tragedies, personal or collectively. During the Second World War, when people heard of the horrors of the holocaust, and where millions of Jews were gassed, tortured and were made subject of human scientific experimentation by the Nazis, these same questions were heard from many people of those days. But who and what is God really? To better understand Him, let us consider His own words. "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). Here, God clearly demonstrated the disparity between God and man. If the disparity between ants and man is already mind boggling, think of the disparity between puny man and the Creator of the whole universe who holds the destiny of each planetary system, each galaxy, entire nations and each and every living thing, including man, at the palm of His hand. Then we will realize who we really are in the presence of an almighty, all knowing and all seeing God who knows each and everyone of us by name and who knows even the numbers of hair on our head. Job found out about the all encompassing sovereignty of God and paid obeisance to that all encompassing glory. What is wonderful about our God is that, He is an all good and loving God who would never leave us nor forsake us and is faithful to the very end. Let us thank God for everything He has done in our lives.

It helps us to trust Him when we realise how much His thoughts are above our thoughts.

Hi Shy,
Okay lang yun, binibiro lang kita, lol. Hindi naman yucky ang ano ng bata, hehehe, lol. Tungkol sa Panginoon, I hope you will have a closer and more intimate relationship with Him. Salamat sa dalaw kapatid at God bless you and your loved ones always.

Good evening hehe..

well parang naging cliche na nga for some who have been experienced great lost and tragedies to question "where is God?", wala lang siguro maisisi or whatever but I always believe that God has nothing to do with our losses.. This is life, its not always happiness. Siguro easy for me to say pero ganito talaga ang buhay, we may experience extreme happiness. Sometimes, in an unavoidable circumstances, we feel/experience extreme sadness. Pero if we have strong faith in the Lord, malalagpasan natin yun.

Thanks for this another inspirational post =) It always uplifts my spiritual life, kahit na tagal ko na di nagsisimba. Thanks sir Mel

You have a fairly good grasp on how spiritual life should be. We must accept everything from God whether favorable or unfavorable to us, for in the final analysis, all things work for our good. God knows what's best for all of us as a good and perfect Father could ever be. Let us just trust Him that He will do what is best for us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Truly inspiring !!

Really liked your comment above:

We must accept everything from God whether favorable or unfavorable to us, for in the final analysis, all things work for our good.

But u know, sometimes when people are in trouble and are facing tough times, don't u think it is difficult for them to stick to the above saying ??

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Raj,
How right you are, that is why we should have a living faith and sincerely believe the word of God. We can't do much anyway when the storms of life come crashing down on us. We might as well hold on to God's promises and trust that He will never give us a trial that we cannot bear because side by side with the trial, He will provide us with sufficient grace to overcome that trial. Joseph in Genesis and Job found this out. They held on to their trust in God and God rewarded their faith in Him. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless.

I think its is not about learning or gettong deep knowledge about God. Most of us dont have to. Having the basic knowledge is good enough but some people just keeps denying God. God will give us the path to get to know him.

Those people dont know him because they simply dont want to know him. They want darkness!!

Hi Tey,
I respect your opinion on this but when you love someone you get to know all about him. How can we say we love God when our knowledge of Him is just superficial? It is so easy to know Him more by reading His words everyday through the Bible. Otherwise we will just be tossed to and fro by different beliefs and perceptions. Thanks for your visit and honest comment. I appreciate that. God bless you always.
