Assurance
There is one all important and lingering question that most men refuse to answer or cannot answer. And that question is, if you die right at this very moment, do you know where you are going to? Most people would just shrug their shoulders and say I don't know. Others would simply and nonchalantly say, I don't care. Not so with real born again Christians. They will tell you with a straight face that they will go to heaven. It is not a question of self righteousness or plain braggadocio. It is merely an assurance on the promise of God that those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior shall merit eternal life. And they believe the word of God and His promises. But where does born again Christians base their confidence on God's promises? The following verses give that assurance:
1. John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
2. Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
3. Romans 10:9 - "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
4. Acts 4:12 - "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
5. Acts 16:31 - "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved- you and your household."
6. Romans 10:13 - "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
I can go on and on citing similar verses but what I am emphasizing is that, we can never be saved by good works alone without Jesus Christ. Anything- offering, sacrifice or good works offered to the Father not in the name of Jesus Christ, will just be an offering in vain and not accepted by the Father. For there is only one way and key to heaven and He is Jesus Christ. "Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

Of course Sir Mel, I know I'm a sinner but I definitely know I would still go to heaven. Thanks for the visits, comments, prayer and sharing lots of wonderful post in all your blogs. Hi Shy,
Good for you if you have that assurance that you will go to heaven. That should give you peace and joy in your heart. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
Yung answer ko po dati, i dont know.. pero ngayon sa heaven na po kasi i have strong faith and beliefs in our Lord.. I may bot read bible or attend the holy mass, pero di po sya nawala sa akin.
May question sana ako about sa claims ng ibang religion kaso wag na lang po kasi baka ma-offend sa aking tanong.. Thanks for sharing this.. medyo na-relief ako. I should believe and be confident with HIS promises. Happy weekends po =)
Hi Bambie dear,
Kanya kanyang paniniwala yan. We should respect the beliefs of others. But God says, "man perishes for lack of knowledge." God bless you all always. BTW, huwag kang magsawang ipagpray ang mister mo. Pray for the grace of conviction, conversion and salvation. Paki kiss si Baby Anzu. Ciao.
Hi Kuya Mel! Sensya na po ngayon lang ako nakabalik, I was having technical problems. But it's fine now, hubby fixed it... Thank God!
Thank you so much for posting this. This is really what I need to convince my brother-in-law and his wife( my hubby's brother), to have faith in Jesus Christ and that only that is needed to have eternal life...
Personally, I am confused that something so easy to do, (HAVE FAITH IN HIM), is so hard for other poeple to grasp. That they resist to accept the fact that Jesus is real and His promises are true. Just read a few verses in the bible and you would know that it is true. It's not a made-up fictional book but a book of revelations that there is a higher being than us.. And all He asks is that we believe...
Thank you so much for the post kuya Mel and if you don't mind, I would email this to my brother-in-law right away... God bless you always...

Hi Kathy,
I don't mind it at all. In fact I welcome it as heaven sent. You should not wonder why some people could not accept the fact that there is God and that there is only one way to Him and that way is Jesus Christ. The Bible said it, that the god of this age has blinded the minds of people so that they can not see or understand the saving message of the Gospel. In the economy of God, only those who were given the grace of salvation shall listen to the message of salvation. God, even before the creation of the world, already knew who would respond to that message and who would not. It is not a case of predestination but infinite foreknowledge of God of everything that will happen in His entire creation. This world, as we see now, is ruled by the lord of the world and those who do not respond to the saving grace of the Gospel are being lured by the evil schemes and wiles of the enemy. We should pray for them. Prayer has such a tremendous impact in the spiritual world that it can release God's powerful forces to thwart all the lies and subtle traps of the enemy. I will join you in your prayer for the grace of conviction, conversion and salvation for your brother in law and his wife. Thank you so much for your visit and inspiring comments. God bless you all always.
