Christian Stewardship

CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP
Christian stewardship is acknowledging that everything that we have and owned are not our own to keep and do as we please, but we are just faithful steward of the Lord who created everything seen and unseen. Even our children were just given to us by the Lord to protect, nurture and sustain in their growing and nurturing years but they belong to the Lord and not to us. By having this positive frame of mind, we should not be unduly attached to everything we have and own, and like Job, we can rightfully say, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised" (Job 1:21). Those who are attached too much to their so called riches and possessions never really have peace of mind and a good night's sleep because they are always fearful that their material possessions may be robbed or they may become bankrupt. How many suicides and mass murders were committed in the US and other advanced countries during the height of the depression that hit these affluent and powerful countries where the bubble burst in the make believe world of US economic invincibility? Many saw their lifetime savings and stocks securities vanished into thin air as the stock market took an almost irreversible free fall. Big and giant companies declared bankruptcies and hundreds of thousands if not millions of employees lost their jobs and their mortgaged homes as well. There was so much fear and uncertainty and people held on to their hard currencies instead of plunging into their accustomed buying frenzies. But those who look to God for their sustenance and provision never worried for the Lord was never amiss in providing for all their needs.
"AND MY GOD WILL PROVIDE ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES AND GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS" (Philippians 4:19)

global economic crisis, affected din po kami =( why does money has a big part in our everyday life?
ANyway, as being God's stewards, I guess somehow I'm doing good, lalo na since our lil girly came to our life, I appreciate more about nature which I never paid much attention before. Mas naging mahilig na ko sa mga kids and as much as possible, gusto ko lumaki si Azumi maging nature lover and appreciative sa lahat ng postive things (and negative na rin) na mangyayari sa kanya.. Have a nice weekend po Sir Mel =)

Hi Bambie dear,
Thanks for the greetings. I'm glad to know that you appreciate the things that God has given you and you are doing your best to give Anzu a better future by appreciating God's gifts through nature. I know she will grow up to be God fearing and very responsible because you train her to be so. Thanks for your visit and much appreciated comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Arvin,
Very aptly said. Let us all be responsible stewards of God's bounties here on earth and preserve whatever patrimonies He has given us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

kung ano man ang meron tayo ngayon...dapat ay pangangahalagahan natin ito...we don't know what the future will bring...who knows....

dito sa US maraming nawalan ng bahay at trabaho...some people get carried away with loans and credit cards...kaya ang resulta homeless....one of my filipino friends losses their house at na laid off pa yung asawa nya....it is hard to see them suffer....pero that's life...huli na ang pagsisi.

I always pray to God na sana HE will continue sharing his blessings upon us...and he will always guide us and give us a good health all the time....

thanks for the post kuyaMel....:)

times are really hard these days, brother mel. it seems like everybody is in need. even though money cannot really buy happiness, we really cannot say that we don't need it at all. by the way, the passage at the end of your post is a great assurance that God knows all our needs and He will always be there for us.. now i just remembered right this minute the "footprints in the sand"... have a blessed Sunday, brother mel. and thank you for the dropping by to my blog..

Hi Meretrisha,
Yes, we may say that times are hard, that is if we focus on it. But if we focus on God's faithfulness to His promises, we can survive whatever hard times we may encounter. The key is to hold on to God's promise and trust in His faithfulness in keeping His promises. Whenever I look at my wallet and calculate if my money will last til the next remittance day, I always experience shortage of money. But when I leave everything to the grace of God, I always experience sufficiency. I just recite the verse I quoted in this post. Thanks for your visit and sincere remarks. God bless you all always.

what a beautiful post. it reminds us of how futile life is if the focus of that life is the acquisition of material things and pure vanity...

I agree sa lahat nag comment dito. Maganda ang yong post mo Mel. Ito kay isang paalala sa atin lahat. We kept on complaining kung ano man wla sa atin, without even looking at the small things na nagdudulot ng kabutihan sa atin o sa ting pamilya.

Francis Kong was the speaker of our seminar last Thursday. He said, ang tao palaging nagsasabi na "Maliit yong sweldo, and dami kung utang, marami pa akong gusto bilhin. Eh kaysa magcomplain ka,isipin mo nalang maraming tao naghahanap pa ng trabaho.

Kaya ngayon, no matter how small and non sense pa yan sa iba, I learn how to appreciate it and how God showered me with the blessings I received.

Hi Kimmy,
Your comments are divinely inspired. I agree with you 100%. We must keep our focus on the reality of God's sovereignty over our lives and everything we have. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Burn,
Yes, we should focus more on what we have and not on what we do not have. Nobody is ever complete, all of us are wanting in many things. It is to our benefit that we should look to God for His divine providence in our lives as we do our best to achieve our dreams in life. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
