Shame! Shame! Shame! Nine Killed In Philippines Hostage Crisis

Last night, nine people died in a drama laden hostage taking crisis in Manila, Philippines that was seen all over the world via the major news networks. A disgruntled Manila police officer- Rolando Mendoza, who was axed from his post as chief of Manila Police's Mobile Patrol Unit in 2008 after he was charged with robbery and extortion or the so called hulidap practice of some policemen of planting evidence and seeking pay off from the victims. The hostages were all children from Hong Kong accompanied by elderlies and parents for their overseas field trip. The hostage taker demanded that he be reinstated to his former job. The negotiations lasted from 10 in the morning to 8 in the evening when elements of the SWAT team stormed the parked tourist bus. After the smoke of gun fire cleared, the hostage taker plus 8 hostages were proclaimed dead. The survivors of the carnage are being treated at nearby hospitals. Hong Kong immediately issued a total travel ban advisory to its citizens against going to the Philippines. Just a couple of days ago, a Korean missionary was shot dead for refusing to open his car window during another robbery hold up. Oh shame on us. We are again at the forefront of negative news around the world. Let us all pray for the Philippines and the Filipinos.

Hi Umma,
It is unfortunate that a group of school children some as young as four years old, together with their parents or grandparents should suffer the worst fate from a deranged Pinoy cop who did not know how to air his so called grievances. That this whole episode of the carnage of these helpless hostages was seen all over the world was a major embarrassment for our country. Let us all pray for our country and our countrymen that God would lead us to the path of true and genuine reforms. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Shy,
Nakakahiya talaga because the incident was witnessed all over the globe via the major TV networks. It should have resulted in the peaceful release of the hostages. The PNP bungled the rescue operations. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Tey,
To put the lives of innocent civilians and foreign tourists at that to further one's personal interest can never be condoned in any civilized society. There are so many avenues to air one's grievance without putting the lives of innocent civilians in one's hands. He should have died by firing squad instead. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Arvin,
Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Tey,
I agree with you. The grievance of the police hostage taker is not that earth shaking for him to take hostages and then kill them for no reasons at all. God save us from these kinds of demented persons. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Meretrisha,
The one guilty of the gruesome crime is already dead and the entire Philippines and Filipino people are being pilloried because of it. I hope this will be over soon and we can go on with our lives. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
