A Friend (Poetry)

A friend is a person that you can trust with your very life.
A friend is a person who is always there for you through thick and thin
And who is not afraid to tell you the real score about you.
A friend is a person who has a ready shoulder to cry on.

A friend knows when to shut up when you just need a listening ear to hear your frustrations and woes in life
And the wisdom to speak when you are desperate for guidance and light.
A friend is a person who will give you his undivided time and attention when others have no time for you at all.
A friend is a person who shares in your laughter and joy and commiserate with your sorrows and pains.
A true friend is harder to find than a needle in a haystack. So when you find one, treasure him like a rare diamond in a jewel box.

You've Got A friend - James Taylor - 1971 (USA)

You Got A Friend - Carole King, Celine Dion, Shanaia Twain and Gloria Estefan

This is a great poem about friendship. Friends are indeed treasures whom you can rely on and also accept you for what you are. I have many friends and acquaintances. I'm thankful that I manage to keep a few true friends who stick with me through thick and thin. Thanks for the post. God bless and take care.

OMG! I so like this "you've got a friend".. I'll be back Kuya Mel to play this song again and again. If gusto ko pa talaga, I'll get the link. This is good when in low moment too.. reminiscing or remembering. :)

besides my three close childhood friends, my best friend in the world is my sister Liz of This is My Life. She is one of the blessings that I always thank the Lord for..

Hi Cacai M,
Both versions are beautiful although the version of Carole King, Celine Dion, Shanaia Twain and Gloria Estefan was done just recently. It is a song that was a monster hit since the 70s. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Dhemz,
Kalilipat nyo lang dyan eh lilipat na naman kayo? Wow, you're really busy these days. Bakit kayo lilipat? Na transfer na naman ba ang hubby mo? Palagay ko yung ibang gamit ninyo ay naka pack pa, lol. Anyway, more power sa new transfer ninyo. Saan naman ba ito? Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

Very nice kuya Mel. It really describes the virtues of a true friend. It's better to have one true friend than a thousand who are fake... Thanks for the post..

Hi Kathy,
Yes, it is worst to have many friends who are fake. It's just like having a crook as a friend. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
