By The Fruits You Will Know The Tree

Do sour trees bear sweet fruits? Or sweet trees bear sour fruits? No, sweet trees bear sweet fruits, and sour trees bear sour fruits. So it is true that by the fruits you will know the tree. This is also true with humans. We know who the person really is by his fruits- how he interacts with other people. A person can say all he wants to say but people will only see the very examples that he does, especially in interacting with other people.

So you want to know how a particular person interacts with others? Ask his immediate family. Ask his house helps and subordinates if he is the superior of other employees. Ask his neighbors and friends. Ask his church mates. The very persons who really know him is his spouse and his parents. Ask them who he really is. You may be surprised by their candid answers.

We may not leave any monuments or lasting memories behind when we are gone from this world, but God will never forget the little things that we have done each day to give a little ray of sunshine to a gloomy neighborhood; that sweet smile that transformed the dreary day of the people we chanced to encounter everyday; the kind words of love and comfort that we generously gave to those in need of them; the extra mile we went through with a friend just to help him get by with his problem; the glass of cold water we handed down to a thirsty stranger or the piece of bread to a hungry beggar; the selfless acts we did when we give way to others even if it is already our turn at the gate.

These and every little selfless acts of kindness we do everyday to all people will reflect the glory of God in our lives and will serve as tiny seeds of righteousness planted in different souls. In due time and with the right conditions, these tiny seeds will sprout, grow and mature into fruit bearing trees that will also produce the sweetest fruits that will reflect and magnify the glory of God in this world.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

that is so, but lately it seems as if these SELFLESS ACTS manifestations of kindness are no longer visible. it becomes too uncommon to hear a mumble of 'thanks' to the helper (housemaid) when the master/mistress of the house was served of anything, a 'please'(pakisuyo) to a colleague when someone wants him to cover up for him just for a while and even 'undivided attention' to our date or companion because we are texting.. it's just sad, but then again, i'll keep my faith, lol!

Hi KImmy,
Yes, in spite of everything, we should keep our faith because we are just pilgrims in this decadent world. Others will not understand us because we do everything for the glory of the Lord and never for the approval of our fellow men. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Interesting!, How about those people came from broken family or drug adik family which have a history of not so good or something. Not all their offspring would want a life like their parents had so they try their best and work their life out in order not to be like their parent. Some of them have successfully separate themselves from their parents way of life and build their own good life and family. I think that looks like a sour tree that bears sweet fruit (smile)

Couple of days ago though when my husband spit out the food he had in his mounth because he didnt like it. So, I said he can't blame jake to be picky and spit out the food he doesnt like because his father is the doing the same thing. And I made a statement that the fruit doesnt fall far from the tree. He said that only applies to mother hahaha.

Nywzzz, just visitng here Sir Mel, thanks for all the visit and comments, been very busy potty training jake lately that is I had little time online. Hope all is well. Thanks for the post

wonderful post, brother mel! indeed, our family knows us better than anyone else; and it is God who knows us completely - our actions, including our motives.

Hi Shy,
The context of this article when I made it is more of the character of a person rather than parents and offspring. This was taken from the narrative of Jesus in the Bible wherein He warned people not to linger on bad thoughts because they will go down to the heart as character and out of the preponderance of the heart comes out what we say or do. Of course offspring will not always be the same as their parents although there will be genetic influences by the parents on their offspring. I have seen devout couples having criminal offspring and vice versa. Pero kung ano ang lagi nating iniisip at isinasapuso ay siguradong magma manifest sa ating salita at gawa. Thanks for the inquiry. I hope you got the gist of my post. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Arvin,
Katulad nang paliwanag ko kay Shy, ang context nang post ko ay building of character na tinuran ni Jesus sa Bible. Kung anong character ang itinanim mo ay siya ring bungang aanihin mo. Hindi ito tungkol sa parents and offspring. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Meretrisha,
Yes, we cannot hide our true colors from our family members and intimate friends and relatives. They know us completely inside out. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
