The Big Bully On The Block (The Height Of Hypocrisy)

versus

In a few days from now, three Pinoys convicted of carrying illegal drugs to China will be executed with lethal injections. No amount of cries for mercy from the whole Filipino nation represented by our government could move the Chinese government to stay the execution and commute their sentences to life imprisonment. They mouth about justice for the poor people of China victimized by drugs brought by these drug couriers. They did not even consider that these drug mules were just victims of international drug syndicates who lured them with drug money. Now they preach us about victims of drugs. But their nationals who operate multi billion shabu laboratories and who run most of the drug syndicates in our country are summarily deported after being caught. They do not even serve prison terms and if they do, they easily escape because of the corruption of our jail officials. How about their fishermen who poach in our territorial waters for endangered species and when caught were just deported to China. The big bully on the block is flexing its muscles and we, small fries as we are, shiver in fear and shame. Shame on us as we are bullied by the big boys on the block. These are bullies Taiwan, Hongkong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and others who always knock us down whenever they see us walking in the block. Even the biggest bully of them all, the US, treat us with contempt giving us outmoded war materials and hand me downs while they pour billions of dollars to their favorite proteges.

When will we learn to stand on our own two feet and defend our inalienable rights as equal citizens of this world. People of the Philippines unite before it is too late.

I actually find China intolerable particularly in handling human rights and politics. This sleeping dragon is going to roar its mighty once the Chinese will be able to expand more clout all over the world.

This world's floor manufacturer is eating most of our jobs and if US/Europe will not act to tame its growing economic greatness. They will soon be cast-off by the communist.

Think about it, China is trying to create the stealth showing off the world that they are capable to overpower their Asian neighbors in the future.

Hi Calleigh,
We are so close to China because we are just neighbors of Taiwan, their so called vassal country. That is the reason why China treats us as their personal property and can do with us whatever they want. They never did that when the American bases (Clark and Subic) were still here because they were afraid to confront the US then. Now they are slowly but surely trying to overtake the US as the most powerful and the wealthiest power in the world. The demise of the once powerful USSR has emboldened them to make their moves. Woe to us a small fry in the smoldering sea teeming with rich and powerful nations. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

I couldn't agree more.. China is a real big bully next to US, or maybe the bulliest of them all. Atleast US kahit papaano meron naiitutulong kahit na may kapalit behind the help. I think China wants to conquer the world kaya kahit saan na lang, gumagawa ng chinese community. What7s the latest news about Spratly islands? I think meron din sila inaangkin na island dito, i just forgot about it.

Thank you for sharing Sir Mel. I also want to thank you for your prayers and concern. As of now, medyo normal na ang pamumuhay dito although medyo kulang ang supply ng gas. Hopefully magiging ok na rin ang lahat. May aftershocks pa rin once in awhile, pero here in tokyo, hindi ko masyado nafifeel. Thank you so much :)

Hi Arvin,
Thanks for your viit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Bambie dear,
Tutuong lahat ang sinasabi mo. China is the bad boy and big bully sa maraming bansa. Remember the tainted milk and toys coming from China? And China is the biggest counterfeiter of almost all products from signature clothes and accessories to electronic gadgets. I read before that some corrupt manufacturer of dumplings added cardboard to the meat fillings of their dumpling. Many of their beauty products and even medicines are tainted with harmful and toxic ingredients. You are right, China is looking to conquer the whole world and they are beginning it in Asia. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

thats so sad.. i don't know what really is Gods plan about all these particularly china as we see the evil ones but they prosper so much..uh, my mind is working, i've read somewhere in the bible about this. China bought the biggest VOLVO company here in sweden. They own it now! Why they got all these powers this time..oohh i'm scared! i don't know..

this is really outrageous. i can still remember the way the Filipinos were treated in hongkong after the hostage taking in Quirino Grand Stand last year and now, this. BIG BULLY indeed..

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi teJan,
China is flexing its muscles and does not want anything less than world domination. The history of China is replete with its former glory when it was the dominant and most advance power in the world. But the West and Japan subjugated China to a point of slavery and incapacity whereby Britain introduced opium to China to further weaken it. The West forced their presence in China and reduced its government to a vassal state. This precipitated the great Boxer rebellion in China as seen in the movie 55 Days at Peking. Now they want nothing more than world domination with the US wracked by economic problems and the once powerful USSR now reduced to a less powerful and ineffective Russia. But it loves to browbeat its weak neighbors first especially the Philippines. The Bible prophesied that China and North Korea will march from Asia and will be joined by a strong force from the North together with militant Arab republic to attack Israel and the millennial kingdom of Jesus Christ. This will happen in the Battle of Armageddon. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Kim,
Big bully indeed. But that's the sad reality in international politics. It's very similar with how politicians play it here in the Philippines. They play it with money and arms instead of goons, gold and girls. Woe to us since we are poor and defenseless. We bear the brunt of the browbeating of our more powerful and richer neighbors. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

I don't know Mel, but no matter how much people told me that I am lucky being here in Singapore, I still cannot live here. Philippines is my home, and I'm coming back home no matter how much they "lucky" I am as they were telling me.

Let us all unite. No one could love our country but us Filipinos.

God Bless us!

Arvin U. de la Peña said...

Hi Marvin,
I respect your opinion about the subject matter. Regarding your request for a comment on one of your post, I am going to visit that post and see what I can comment. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Minnie Runner,
I love your comment. It is only in uniting where we can move forward and progress among the brotherhood of nations. We cannot really progress if we remain fragmented and biting one another. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Arvin,
Kawawang Pinas. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Arvin,
Thanks again for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

I lost words, parang I don't know where to begin. Sana nalang we have to live in good means kahit mahirap basta sa tamang paraan.

this reminds me of the show I watched sa MMK last Saturday....yung mga pilipino na gusto mag abroad....akala nila pupunta nang china to work a decent job, tapos hinto nang bangkok...pero ang totoo, sa thailand galing ang drugs tapos sila yung nagdadala nang druga to china...kawawa talaga yung mga pilipinong nasangkot sa ganitong situation.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Kim,
Surely our drug mules deserved to be punished but must it be the death penalty? On the other hand Chinese nationals who were caught conducting shabu laboratories and who were running multi billion pesos drug cartel in the Philippines were summarily deported to China because of pressure from China. Now, where is equality there? They can do that because they are a powerful nation and we are weak. That is the point Kim. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Dhemz,
Yes, it's because of poverty that Filipinos are caught delivering drugs to other countries for big money. Too late that they found out it's their lives that are at stake. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Unknown said...

Oh my gosh, kawawa naman. they are just victim of drug trafficking kasi if we trace where this drugs came from im sure not in the philippines. sa sobrang hirap ng buhay mga tao kahit may choice they get into drug business kasi easy money. I just feel bad for this people because they will die in other country and to think china is one of our neighboring country. hindi mn lng kinuconsider and china-filipino relationship. Thanks for the post sir mel

Very thought provoking topic you have here Kuya!

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Shy,
Yes, it's grinding poverty that has pushed these people to risk their lives to deliver drugs to China. Now they will be executed at the end of the month and there will no longer be any extension. Let us just pray for them and their families. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Rose,
I feel strongly for this issue because it entails the lives of three of our kababayans. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Thank you for answering each comments kasi ang dami ko din natutunan.. gusto ko sumabat kaya lang ang dami ko gusto sabihin. Kawawa talaga ang Pinas dahil wala tayo sariling paa.
As of now dito sa Japan, parang magiging problema ang supply ng vegetables kaya kung dati ay hindi na binibili ang made in china, parang wala ng magiging choice.. wag naman sana.

Hi Bambie dear,
In fairness, Pres. Noynoy is doing his best but the prevailing system in our government and the corruption trails left behind by his predecessor are hampering his efforts along this line. Pero the broad majority of the Filipino people are still supporting him and are still hoping that he will deliver on all his campaign promises. With regards to China, there's not much we can do except to swallow our pride and hope that someday we can be strong and rich enough to stand against her. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

We Filipinos need to open our eyes. We let others treat us however they want and all because of our poverty.
My heart is always crying for our country, the Pearl of the Orient, with a glorious past. Now, what is left is dust. And our politicians are all busy fattening their pocket in front of our very eyes. When will be ever wake up? Do we need Rizal to get up from his grave?

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Jemina,
Yes, after the 2nd World War, we were number one in Asia. Japan was a defeated country. China was wracked by a great civil war. Korea was impoverished too and had their own civil war. But after a massive support from the US, their enemies- Germany and Japan rose to become very progressive and wealthy. The Philippines lagged behind because of corruption and disunity. Now we bear the brunt of our own negligence. Thanks for your visit and profound comments. God bless you always.
