Personal Change- The Secret To A Stress Free Life

When we changed a stressful situation- our work, our spouse, or anything else that give us stress, did that make us happy? No, it only made us happy at first but later on, the same symptoms reappear and we are back to square one where we wallow once again in stress and unhappiness.

Why? Because changing the situation is never the solution. Remember, we can never change another person. That person will change because he likes to change and not because we caused him to change. Have we not noticed that life is never constant. It is always a case of ebb and flow, high and low, happiness and sorrow. One day you are up there in the clouds in happiness and the following day you are down there in the dumps. Why? Because life is like that. The only person who is truly happy and joyful in life irregardless of his external situations is the person who has learned to make a personal change within and accepts whatever fate hands down to him. He can live in extreme equanimity through the good days as well as through the bad days. He does not attempt to change people, he adjusts to them. He does not attempt to change situations, he rides them through. He is like the bamboo tree that bends down when a fierce storm is present. Then he regains his full stature as soon as the storm is gone. The sturdiest trees are those that survived the strongest and fiercest storms in life.

Let us take counsel from the words of the Book of Psalms in Psalm 1: 1-3 "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."

You want to be truly happy in life? Then learn to trust God with all your heart and accept everything that He gives you whether good or bad. In the end, when we have passed His tests, we will surely attain true happiness and joy in life.

Thank for this encouraging post. Some people at their lowest tends to ask the Lord why? We should never blame our God for our failures or problems, those are only trials diba. ANd we must know that life is not always like what it seems to be. Di natin malalaman ang value ng happiness kung di tayo nagdaan sa kalungkutan.. we'll know the real success kung di natin pinaghirapan. Just like what happens in Japan, ngayon lang talaga ako nagbilib sa kanila because they are so positive and peaceful. Their goal is to rise again by helping one another and show to the world that there is always hope.. lagi mo nga shine-share na there's always light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for always reminding us na God is only our salvation :)

Hi Bambie dear,
I am so happy to hear those words from you. You are really beginning to understand how God works in our lives. The dramatic tragedy that befell Japan had an influencing effect on your philosophy in life. Yes, the Japanese were tested by the Lord so that they will go back to their basic principles in life. And I know they will be able to rise again from the ashes of this temporary defeat to soar once again in the pinnacle of success. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Arvin,
You are right. People will change because they want to not because others forced them to change. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

I do believe Kuya that God knows how much you can do so He will never give us a trail that we couldn't cope up with. It is up to us to find the strength in facing those trials. He has alway been in my since I was a child so I always seek strength from Him in everything that I do.

Hi Rose,
Yes, I agree with you. As a loving Father, God knows us inside out. We only have to become obedient to His will and He will never leave us nor forsake us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Great post! But I disagree on some parts like "we can never change another person. That person will change because he likes to change and not because we caused him to change." sometimes people around us can really affect and trigger one person to change. A good example is when courting a girl, what if she say that you must stop your smoking first before considering you as her boyfie? would you not stop it? as we all know that smoking is a very hard to withdraw but you will do it not just because you want to but just to please your girl, am I right? In short people around us can also make a big difference in your life they can help you change for better and sometimes even for worst. Thanks!

Hi Brother TN629,
I respect your opinion about the topic I posted. But the decision to change is still with the person. One may have influenced him to change but he still decides whether he will change or not. The only instance where change is effected by another person is in a prison or a dictatorial regime where there is no freedom to choose. Anyway, your opinion is as good as mine. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless.

Hehehe Hi Sir Mel, I agree with your post and I disagree with the last commenter about like "we can never change another person. That person will change because he likes to change and not because we caused him to change."

Only the people who choose to change can change their lives. If one person tries to changes other person well mag hintay ng ilang araw babalik din ang ugali or attitude na ayaw nya i change. The courting is different with the change kasi courting involves feeling and attraction. My husband for example he mentioned to me he stopped smoking already, it's that i asked him to stop. before we met online he stopped smoking and I think that was a plus pogi points, but when i arrived here he smoked again. It means ang nanliligaw makapag sinungaling or pretend to stop but kung ano talaga ugali hindi na yun madali ma change kung ayaw ng isang tao. Kaya nga siguro daming nag hiwalay na mag asawa diba kasi ang isa taong ayaw mag bago ayaw din ayaw makipag compromise. I thank You hehehehe bow!

Hi Shy,
Hahaha, nag bow ka pa, para kang si Aiza nuon, hehehe. But I agree with you. Nobody can change anybody if that person does not want to change. Case in point is your husband. He changed because he was courting you but as soon as you were already living together, he went back to his usual smoking ways. Anyway, everybody has his own point of view and nobody has the monopoly of being right. We must respect the opinion of other people. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always. Bow, hehehe.
