The Power Of Words

Words can hurt. Words can build up and words can destroy. So let us be careful with what we say and how we say it. There are words that cut deep into one's soul and no amount of apologies can rectify the hurt that was done.

We may feel good when we give someone a piece of our mind, but though we may be relieved from the release of an intense emotion, we may have left someone devastated and with a broken spirit. Can we live with that?

Sometimes words can provoke anger and violence. It is better to hold our tongues when there is nothing good that we can say. As they say, silent waters run deep and a bubbling brook holds no depth.

Gossips, idle talk and back stabbing are some of the worse words that can leave our mouths. They do no good and destroy the reputations of others. Better to keep our peace and hold our tongues in check.

If we must speak, let us speak words of encouragements, words of inspiration, words of love and words that uplift rather than hurt and destroy others. Let us become harbingers of peace and joy to the world. Together with a genuine smile,
gentle words of approbation uplift the spirits and cause considerable joy and exuberance to those we come in contact with.

As the song says, "did we fill the world with love our whole life through."

right you are, we can always choose to say something nice and constructive. we can make or break a person by what we say, and i can't understand why there are people who seem to get satisfaction in intimidating others just because they are better with words. i sincerely hope i am not one of those people..

This is so true. Words have great impact. Kaya nga if you dont have nice things to say, better not say anything na lang. I admit, I have unintentionally hurt many people who's important to me because of what i've said. Kaya natuto na ko to control my feelings. Its nice to be honest but sometimes we need to be careful on what we are going to say :) Thank you for this post Sir Mel

Hi Bambie dear,
That is all so true. Even if it's good to be honest, it is better to be prudent to avoid unnecessarily hurting others with our words. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Kimmy,
Of course you are not. I see you as a mature and sensitive person ever sensitive to the sensibility of others. I have learned my lessons in life and I avoid as much as possible speaking to hurt others even if I feel I have the right to do so. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Arvin,
You are so right, that is why, we must be choosy with our words so as not to unnecessarily hurt others. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Mel,

That is why a word resembles a sword right? It can equally hurt - sometimes more painful.

God Bless,
Madz

Hi Madz,
Yes, you are so right. Words can either lift up or cut down to size. It is upon us to choose which one we like for others that we talk to. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

I am a very sensitive person so I know if I hurt somebody because of what I said kaya lagi akong maingat but sometimes pag nagbibiro ako, some people take it seriously that they get mad. Kontrolado ko na yan ngayon, nung medyo bata pa ako, biro lang ako ng biro.

Hi Rose,
Yes, even a meaningless joke can sometimes hurt unknowingly. The best thing to do is to hold one's tongue when nothing good can be said. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Dhemz,
We must be very careful with our words to avoid hurting others and we must always give others the benefit of the doubt if we are offended by a casual remark. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Totally agree with you Sir Mel. Sometimes hurtful words comes out when you are mad or sometimes if you are too proud. If you put in your mind that you know everything you tend to hurt people because you do not know how to be humble. Ako may pagka maldita minsan, and i accept that I hurt people even in my little jokes but i would be willing to ask for forgiveness if I know that I hurt someone. I also have the tendency to to say a lot of hurtful words if i am superpissed hehehehe. Thanks for the post po.

Hi Shy,
Yes, words can hurt so we must be careful in choosing words to utter. What I like most about you my friend is your honesty and transparency. What you see is what you get. That's what you are. Hindi plastic and pretentious. And you are so thoughtful and loyal to your friends. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
