Dreams

Dreams have a reality all their own. To the person who indulges in its escapist world, it is as real as you and me. Do you remember the time when as a kid, we used to have our own imaginary friends? Or how about the castles in the air we escaped to when things were bleak in our real world?

I remember when I was a child and I dreamed of my own world of make believe. My favorite spot was our window upstairs. I would pretend that it was an airplane and I was a pilot that flew it wherever I wanted it to go. I would simulate so many dogfights and bomb runs on the territories of the enemy.

Sometimes, I would pick up cottons from inside our dilapidated living room sofa and blow them outside our window. Then I would pretend that they formed into the big shapely clouds that adorned our skies.

Even when I was already a young teen, I would still indulge in my make believe world. It was a world of idyllic beauty, with a breath taking lake and a garden full of gorgeous flowers and luscious fruit bearing trees. Oh, I was always lost in the enchanting beauty and grandeur of that escapist world with the lady of my dreams. Food was no problem for us for the lake was full of fishes jumping in the air. And we have our own menagerie of farm animals to provide us meat. We planted our own colorful vegetables in our garden patch.

The girl of my dreams was so beautiful, perfect in every way. I made so many poems and love letters to her. But alas, all dreams have their endings. I was brought back to the harsh realities of life. I have to go on with my schooling and later on, with my work. But my enchanted world was so good and real while it lasted.

i love dreaming because i can do whatever i wanted too.. :D but true enough dreams have their own endings..nonetheless, reality is more beautiful unless dreams are meant to be realistic. :D

honestly, i've always thought i was kind of 'weird' because i dream a lot since i was young. now, i realize it was just natural for an imaginative person like myself to be full of them. and you were right when you said there is a time to wake up but no matter how difficult reality is, for me, my dreams make it more bearable..

I can relate to that Mel! I too always dream and somehow created a world of my own. :)

Hi Gagay,
I think all of us are dreamers one time or another in our lives. There is always the tendency to stroll along dreamsville whenever things are not alright with our lives. We must just be careful not to over indulge in it. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi MInnieRunner,
It is amazing how people like us could create our own imaginary world one time or another in our lives. Although it is a form of escapism, somehow it relieves us of the strain and pressures of living. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Yup, that is the power of dreams. sometimes if my world is too heavy with the difficulties of the realites, I'll just go to my dream land in my head and pretend a wonderful imaginary world. Thanks for the post Sir Mel, mag imagine muna ako na dami kong pera para maka uwi ng pinas hehehe

Hi Kim,
Yes, dreaming is an escapist act to enable us to temporarily escape the harsh realities of life. It is the only forum that we control absolutely. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Laikka/teJan,
Yes, dreaming has always been a part of our childhood days. It is the great equalizer to our inadequacies. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Dhemz,
There are two kinds of dreams- dreams that are achievable and dreams that are offshoot of over active imagination. We indulged in the second one when we were younger and the first one when we are facing the competitive world. Thanks for your visit ad comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Bambie dear,
How funny it is that all of us became dreamers one time or another in our lives. And we actualized what we wanted in our dreams, in your case that of being a princess. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
