Health Is Wealth

Truly, there is no truer maxim in life than this phrase. We may have all the riches and material comforts in life, but if we are not healthy, we will never live to enjoy them. It is sad to see people work themselves to death to accumulate wealth. And when they attain it, they spend all their money for the healing of diverse diseases they have contacted because of the unhealthy habits they developed in their mad quest to acquire their cherished wealth. The solution to this is moderation in all aspects of our lives. True, we must set goals and try to attain them so that we can live a fulfilled life. But in attaining them, we must never forgo or neglect the other aspects of our lives.

We must live a truly holistic lifestyle. We have to eat the right amount of nutritious food that enables our body to rebuild itself. We must exercise regularly. We must have the right amount of sunshine and a regular communing with nature to soothe our nerves and calm our minds. We must have healthy interactions with our loved ones, relatives and friends, avoiding enmity with anyone. We must always think positive thoughts of love, hope, joy, peace and reverence for all life. We must banish all negative thoughts, emotions and feelings from our minds. And most of all, we must be at peace with God, pursuing our purpose in life as He delineated it for us.
As we become a vital cog in the economy of God and the brotherhood of men, we feel fulfilled and satisfied with our lives. Then we can honestly say that we have lived a truly happy, healthy and fulfilled life for all to witness and glorify our God. TO GOD BE THE GLORY NOW AND FOREVERMORE.

agree with you, kuya mel. i've known quite few persons who made money their god. as if, it would save them from the plagues of this world. i just hope it is not too late to realize that even their self proclaimed "sharing their good fortune to the needy" is not a precursor for their souls to be saved.

I thank God for this post that you have shared today, for I find everything that is mentioned here to be of great value and of complete truth.

My prayer to God is that many others will read this!

God's blessings to you my brother in Christ!

Hello Kuya Mel, your post evoked my memory not to ignore my physical well being. As we routinely overlook our health for the pursuit of prosperity.

I have an acquaintance who worked hard for 10 years depriving herself some luxuries just to save money only to get drained after being diagnosed of a malady.

Her saving was not enough to handle the hospital bills and medications. What a sad story indeed.

Hi Imriz,
I'm so glad you visited me here as I miss you already. Yes, you are right. Some have made money as their god sacrificing even their health in their quest for it. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Umma,
Yes, that's the sad part of the lives of many. In the pursuit of wealth, they sacrificed their physical well being and paid dearly after they become sick. Others just eat what they want irregardless whether the food is harmful to their health. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Arvin,
You are so right. There are so many things that a sick person cannot do. His productivity becomes compromised. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Dhemz,
You are so right. Health is wealth. It is useless to accumulate wealth at the expense of our health which we could not enjoy if we become sick. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Kim,
It's not wrong to work so hard for your family but your health must never be compromised for there is no replacement for our body. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

i agree with your post brother mel. human as we are, we have the tendency to overwork for monetary purposes; however, we need to be reminded that our body also has limitations.

Hi Meretrisha,
Yes, we must also take care of our health since sickness takes productivity away from us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Powerful post.

I am working on really activating my faith with healing scriptures. od course I believe in our savior. But I mean seeing Gods word ..scriptures as *healing medicine for mind, body and spirit.

I highly recommend this book. AWESOME! true story - "10 Hours to Live" Our church book store carries it and where I first saw it. You can get it on Amazon. POWERFUL book on healing. I've always believed ...but his book about how he beat the medical prognosis with the deadliest cancer and given 10 hrs to live is excellent. They never gave up and kept speaking, reading and hearing the healing scriptures. Docs were getting mad at him because when they'd say you'll be dead by morning he said "I will live and not die, but go on to proclaim the works of God." Psalm 118:17 A must read. there are many books on healing out there but this really demonstrated the battle that goes on in things not seen. And imagining ..KNOWING GOD'S word IS healing ..his medicine ..every time taken into you you and around you ..powerful. he was 22 then and middle aged now. Then told he'd never have kids because of treatments and he has Kids. isn't God amazing?! :) Can read excerpts on amazon

I totally agree with your Sir Mel. ang iba nakaklimutan na ang sarili kasi kayod lng ng kayod. sa atin sa pinas na sanay na sa hirap marunong mag balanse sa buhay kahit walang wala diba, maliban nlng sa iba siguro na mayayaman na walang time for pleasure.

Hi SeaSpray,
Thanks for recommending that book to me. I have known the healing power of the Lord in my own life. I should have been dead twenty years ago but God has kept me alive for His own purpose. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Shy,
Yes, you are so right. The wealth that these people will accumulate will become useless if they become sick because of overworking. In everything, we should maintain a proper balance between working and staying healthy. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

I am glad to know that about you Mel. You are a walking testimony to God's goodness and healing power.

I had a friend who outlived the Doctors (many docs) for over a decade. She had so many serious things wrong and then as time went on more things. She was ready to meet God at any time and even counseled for Guidepost (Christian magazine) from her bed. And in palliative care after given 3 weeks to live she lived another 19 mos beyond that. I stayed over nite in her room and it was like grand central station because employees would come in to share about their lives with her and she even counseled them ..her room was a respite for them I think ..no doubt God working thru her. I was concerned she needed more rest. Like you ...she was outward focused and always wanted to help others even tho she came close to dying many times. She was my mentor in life and we were friends for 29 years. So ..now I've lost two very close friends. I know they are with God and will meet again ..but sure do miss them. My lifelong friend will be more difficult in that so used to talking for so many yrs. Sorry ..don't mean to go on.

I couldn't help but think of Pat, my friend that was ill for so long and still reached out to others and taught about God too.

You have a ministry with your blogs Mel. And yes ..I know ...God working in you ..but you still have to be a willing vessel for him to work through and you glorify Him all the time. :)

Hi SeaSpray,
What wonderful and sweet words you write but as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. There is a mysterious bond among sufferers because they have tasted God's sweet comfort as they underwent extreme trials and pains. This same comfort they extend to others who are likewise suffering. This is probably God's way of developing people who would minister for Him. They also trudge along via dolorosa or the path to Calvary sans the crucifixion. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
