A FRIEND

A friend is a person that you can trust with your very life.
A friend is a person who is always there for you through thick and thin
And who is not afraid to tell you the real score about you.
A friend is a person who has a ready shoulder to cry on.

A friend knows when to shut up when you just need a listening ear to hear your frustrations and woes in life
And the wisdom to speak when you are desperate for guidance and light.
A friend is a person who will give you his undivided time and attention when others have no time for you at all.
A friend is a person who shares in your laughter and joy and commiserate with your sorrows and pains.
A true friend is harder to find than a needle in a haystack. So when you find one, treasure him like a rare diamond in a jewel box.

That's right Mel, you know, Gusthav's my best friend, like a younger brother (even more than my biological younger brother).

The song is awesome, I have one in my musical blog (it's the first song I've posted, but it's in Spanish and it talks about the friendship, what a true and real friend is).

Big greetings and big hugs

Sweet Dreams, from the bottom of my Heart:
Arthur, the musical boy from Argentina

It's true Mel, real friends are very limited.

And Arthur is like the older brother I never had (I have only a younger sister).

And the video is pretty cool.

Greetings and hugs

Nice Day, with my whole soul:
Gusthav

And we're glad you are our friend, too.

Hi tqmcintl,
Whew, boy, did I had a hard time spelling your name or alias. I hope I got it right. Thanks for visiting my blog and for the cryptic comment. Thanks for considering me as your friend. I made a quick scan of your dashboard and my God, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of your blogs. You are like Jim of WUB. Or are you Jim? He, he, Anyway, thanks for your visit and for the nice comments. Smile. Have a nice and friendly day.

Dear Heiresschild,
Thanks for your usual visit and very kind comments. I always appreciate them. True friends indeed are hard to find. I'm sure glad you have many (or is it some?) of them. I'm sorry if there were some posts you had where I was not able to post comments. I do not go for memes. But I have no quarrel for those who do. He, he, As I said, different strokes for different folks. Sorry also for the blunder in my last comment to your post. I was supposed to read the inside article. I did not notice it, that's why my comment was way off line. He, he, sorry. Signs of senility I guess. He, he, *lol* Thanks again. God bless and have a nice and peaceful day.

hi mel, thank you for the birthday prayer and blessings for my granddaughter. that's ok about the memes. i personally love doing them because they're fun, and take me away from the seriousness that life sometimes brings, and they allow another part of my personality to shine thru. you have a great week. i hope things have returned to order after the flooding you had there. do you experience winter like we do here in some parts of the united states?

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

No, we do not have winter in the Philippines, Heiresschild. We only have two seasons- dry and wet seasons. Although it's a little colder in the last quarter of the year and the first two months because the winter ice in Siberia is thawing and the cold wind is being blown towards most of Asia. I have not yet fully recovered from the great floods that devastated us but we are picking up the pieces by the grace of God. I know that everything is by His purpose and I never question Him for that. Thanks for dropping by again. You're always welcome here. Smile. God bless and have a nice and Spirit filled day.

hello Tito,Kuya,Uncle Mel Tukmol3 Biglangdakma(haba naman ng name nito) magandang umaga. gusto ko tong entry nato pero..sabi nila there's no such friend, bestfriend o kung ano pa exist in this world kasi nga kalimitan sila yong magtatraydor at humihila sa yo pababa dahil sa inggit.so call no one a friend daw..totoo nga ba?

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Dear Miss Kurdapya,
Aw, touch ako. I don't know if I deserve that, but thanks any way. You're my best friend too. I learned so much from you in the short span of time that we have our correspondences. I learned to squeeze out my long lost sense of humor because of you. I remembered that life doesn't have to be too serious and dry. It can be made nicer with a sprinkling of humor and a dash of feelings from the heart. You can love your friends and pray hard for them that the Lord would ease the pains and loneliness in their hearts. That you can vicariously experience their agonies and pains and vicariously share in their joys and laughters. I have seen how memories of a painful and lost love affair have squeezed out the creative juices in you and have produced heart wrenching love letters emanating from the bottom of your heart and the depths of your soul. I can only commiserate with you in your silent suffering and you just made me realize that blogging was your only outlet to vent out your frustrations and all the pains in your heart. Forgive me for telling you to stop writing your hurt emotions. If that is the way that you can let go of your past, then so be it. Pour them out of your heart. Thank you for considering me your best friend. It's a distinct honor I will cherish for the rest of my life. Wow, kakatouch, he, he. Pasensya na corny lang ako talaga. Bye now. And God bless you with the strength and heavenly joy for you to overcome all your heartaches in life.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Ay Byotipol that doesn't have to be the case. The Lord will give us the Spirit of discernment to know the kind of persons we come across with. We don't need to be cynical about friendship. True friends are like rare diamonds that do not lose their luster even after the passage of time. We just have to be more careful and circumspect in choosing our friends so we can avoid frustrations and hurt feelings later on. Betrayal is of course the worst thing that a so called friend can do. But hey, even Jesus Christ was betrayed by His best friend, didn't He? Thanks for dropping by. Smile. God bless and have a nice and friendship filled day.

Dear Krystyna,
Thanks for the generous praise but to God be the glory. Sorry for my long hiatus. I have to sort out a lot of things and be at peace again with my Creator. I have regained my strength back. Thanks to His amazing grace and mercy. Thanks for your visit. Smile. God bless and have a nice and peaceful day.

Dear Noushy,
I will always be your true friend. You can always count on that. Thanks for the compliment, but to God be the glory. Sorry if I have not visited you lately. As I said to Krystyna, I have to discontinue blogging for a while to face an almost insurmountable trial and regain my strength and peace of mind. By the grace of God, I was able to do just that. Thanks again for your visit. Smile. Have a nice and peaceful day.
