Doubt and Fear (Twin Whammy Against Victorious Living)

DOUBT AND FEAR (TWIN WHAMMY AGAINST VICTORIOUS LIVING)
Have you stand in a bowling alley, holding a bowling bowl in your hand and the thought raced across your mind that, "what if my ball goes to the gutter?" I tell you, 9 out of 10, it surely will. Why? Because negative thoughts of doubt and fear are a powerful mindset that throws our natural abilities to disarray. Or when you are having a game of table tennis with a friend and you suddenly realized that your opponent was better than you and that you have never beaten him before. Chances are, you will lose that game as you always did before.

Doubt and fear are the twin nemesis of faith and belief in one's ability to triumph. Many a battle were won not by superior military strength but by the sheer genius and persistence of the commander of the victorious army. Many a forlorn and lovesick bachelors could have won the hearts of their fair maidens if only they had the guts to tell what were in their hearts. Alas, doubt and fear got the better of them and they lost even before the real battle began. Many languishing souls at the bottom of the career ladder of success were there not because they were incompetent or lacking in innate abilities but because they were lacking in guts and self confidence.

Look at the movie stars and the sports heroes. They gleam with extreme self confidence and they communicate this to their adoring fans and audiences. Next time that you stand in the bowling alley with a bowling ball in your hand, close your eyes, then visualize in your mind's eyes that you have a strike. Then open your eyes and focus on the kingpin, take a deep breath, then release the ball. Chances are, you will get your strike. Life is like that. The world applauds the winner and ignores the loser.

This is so true. It is ashame that more people do not latch on to this. People really need to realize the power of mind and their words. I actually wrote a post that has a similar premise. I have told people for years that you have what you say.

Think negative thought get negative results. Great post!
Blessings to you and yours,
Tammy

the power of positive thinking really bothers me, honestly. In my case, sometimes I think of something negative which pushes me to strive not to let it happen.

Doubt and fear can completely blind you! I experienced this when my son, Gus, was in the hospital. It wasn't until I laid down my fears and doubts about my child's life that I really felt peace. Gus is no longer with us here on earth, but because I chose not to doubt and fear God's plan for all of us, I've been able to grieve with peace and even a lot of times with joy! I still have to daily practice that positive thinking though...

So true friend. Even when we know the power of thoughts and words, it is still hard to think positively sometimes. Well, hard for me anyway. Can't wait to try bowling again to see if my balls stay out of the gutter! Love your blog, just subscribed. God Bless!

Hi Bb_Anne,
It is really the power of thoughts and not only positive thinking. Negative thinking is a lot powerful since we do it most of the time with extreme emotions or feelings, especially when we are angry. Then it becomes a curse and has a deleterious effect on both the sender and the recipient. Thoughts coupled with spoken words are even more powerful because it will seek expression in the physical world. That is why so many things happen to us. The things that we dread most actually happens because we give it life with our negative thoughts, feelings and emotions. The lesson is, let us just concentrate on thinking positive thoughts and strengthen it more with positive words and feelings. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless.

Hi Ester,
Actually, I just used bowling as an example of the effects of doubt and fear to people. Negative thoughts will only bring us pain and frustrations, so we must never indulge in them. I must see what you are tagging me for. Thanks for the tag and visit. God bless.

Hi Jenny,
I'm sorry to hear that Gus has passed away. I thank the Lord that He comforted you in your moments of grief. Truly, doubt and fear will never do us any good. It's wonderful to dwell on God's words for our positive thoughts. Thanks for your visit and intimate comments. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Hi Sandra,
It takes a lot of discipline to stay away from negative thoughts and dwell mostly on positive ones. Meditating on the word of God helps a lot in making our mind think positive thoughts only. And we can look forward to the realization of God's promises for our lives. How's that for reward on positive thinking? Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you and your family always.

Hi Krystyna,
Negative thoughts are the handiwork of the enemy. They keep us in shackles by those negative thoughts. But if we focus on God's goodness and His faithfulness to His promises then we can enjoy living a victorious Christian life. I hope you have reconsider your decision to quit blogging. You are indeed a very bright spot in the world of blogging. I hope you will continue on blogging.
God bless you and your loved ones always my friend.

Hi Wendy,
I share in your happiness for finally becoming pregnant. God has been so good to you. Praise His holy name. Correct use of our imagination and the power of the spoken words can work wonders for us. They can open the doors of heaven for untold blessings for us. Alas, most men use their imagination for mundane purposes instead of aligning it to the purpose of God for our lives. Thanks for your visit and your inspiring comments. God bless you and your family always my friend.

Hi Noushy,
So many people fail because they carry defeatist thoughts in their minds. We have the capability to succeed in whatever endeavor we strive for. We only have to believe in ourselves and in the grand design of God for our lives. Thanks for your visit and your comments. God bless you and your loved ones always my friend.

you are so right my friend

think positive and it will be positive...

isnt it like a law of attraction where if you are in doldrums and keep thinking about it...thats the kind of people you attract....

thanks for a wonderful post and have a good day :)

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Ceedy,
Yes, you are right. However, it is very easy to think of negative thoughts because of the propensity of man to dwell on negativities. If we want to succeed in life we must persist on thinking positive thoughts. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

That was a very valuable post my friend. However,no matter how successful and confident one might be,there would always be tiny seeds of doubt and fear in their minds. That's human nature.

TC.Have a nice week ahead.God Bless!

Hi Sameera,
Yes, it is natural to have doubts and fears in our mind, but they act as whammies that destroy success. A person who strives for success banishes all doubts and fears in his mind. Thanks for the visit and comments. God bless.
