My Most Hilarious Experience In My Life

I was working then as an export manager of a food firm somewhere in Makati City in Southern Metro Manila, Philippines. There were three sister companies in our holding firm owned and managed by a flamboyant Chinese businessman. There were probably a thousand employees of the three companies. We used to have our annual Christmas party where all employees of the three companies attended to enjoy the raffles and the contest that provided fabulous prizes. We had a regular team of participants in our company who rehearsed daily for the contest. But less than a week before the contest, the wife of the owner informed me that we have to form another team for the contest to make it more exciting and merrier. Nobody from our remaining employees wanted to form another team because of the proximity of the contest. In desperation I picked up a stout and jolly assistant and we formed a team to belly dance and do the hula. We practiced everyday almost nonstop. I purchased the wigs, hula dresses and the sexy outfits for our belly dancing. Come the day of the contest, we were made up by our female staff and were shielded from the audience by a large blanket that covered us. We were such a hit that everybody were standing and all rushed in front of the stage, taking pictures and having the best laugh of their lives. The judges loved our act and awarded us first prize. Only after the contest and the party were finished and everybody started teasing us did I feel the embarrassment of it all. Oh what we will do to give others a good laugh.

(Note: I lost all the pictures of that event because of the great flood that inundated our house two years ago.)

Hi sis Pia,
I can't believe I did it either but I could never turn down the request of my boss' wife. She was an angel. Too bad I lost all those photos in the flood that inundated our house. Good thing though, my kids lost their main weapon in making fun of me. Oh well. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

In life you have to laugh, dance ... laughter is good for health. I laughed out ...

Thank you for sharing your memoirs.
Today I had a little headache... now I'm fine. Thanks.

While reading your post Sir mel i was imagining the fun in that party. You sure gave them a good laugh with your hula dance and what made it funnier even better was you were all guys doing the hula. Im sure that was so hilarious looking at you guys with your hula costume. Well, for the sake of fun, even ifwe imbarrased ourselves as long as every body are happy. I used to that though. people will remember the fun not the imbarassment, and they will like you for being such a sport. Thanks for sharing Sir Mel. Havea good day!

Good job, Mel! Too bad that you lost the mementoes of that 'unforgettable experience.' Have you asked your co-workers if they have copies of the pictures? Maybe some of them have.

Hi Krystyna,
Sometimes we do crazy things especially when we were younger. But I did that out of reverence and respect for the wife of the owner of our company. I just could not turn her down. Besides, I thought I could give them a good laugh at my expense and they really had a good laugh. I pray to the Lord that He will cure your headache. By the stripes of Jesus your headache is cured. This we pray heavenly Father in the name of Jesus through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, one God forever. Amen. Thanks for your visit and comments my friend. God bless you always.

Hi Us,
Surely I just thought of their happiness and entertainment when we did the hula dance and the belly dance. The hula dance was mild but the belly dance was a riot because we were gyrating like crazy and everybody loved it. They laughed so hard they were already crying. Yes, you are right. It was well worth all the embarrassment. Thanks for your visit and inspiring comments. God bless you always.

Hi MsRay,
That was so many years ago and I already lost contact with all of them. And probably that's better because my kids kept on ribbing me with those pictures. I had to remind them that it was all for fun and nothing more. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Mel:
LOL..that's so funny!:) At one of my company's Christmas parties, we had a hula hoop contest. Would you believe that it was the older employees in their 50's and up that could hula like crazy? The younger ones either didn't know how or tried and looked ridiculously funny. I tried but couldn't keep the hoop turning for longer than 5 seconds. It was really thoughtful of you to do the act for your boss's wife and for your fellow peers.

Hi Wendy,
Minimal lang naman ang pinsala namin, Praise the Lord for that. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Dorothy,
Actually she is not my daughter but the daughter of John and Rose Cottrill. I just copied and pasted the information from the blog of Rose and put their names below. I guess people can be misled by the invitation. The girl is too beautiful to be my daughter, lol. Anyway I appreciate your vote for Rylie. Yes, when we were younger, we were capable of doing crazy things, hehehe, lol. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Rose Belle,
Yes, as I have said, what we will do to give our friends a good laugh. I was younger then and crazy that's why I was able to do that, lol. I can't envision myself doing it now, lol. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Thank you for always visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments.☺
