The Next Higher Spiritual Steps

We are in different stages in the development of our character and spirituality in our quest to be with our Lord. Ever wondered why, in spite of all our efforts to do the will of God in our lives, and in spite of the joy and pleasure the presence of God brings to our lives, we are not spared from tremendous trials and burdens from the Lord? Why? Do you sometimes experience that numbing feeling that the Lord may not be faithful after all in keeping all His promises? No! That is farthest from the truth. The Lord is faithful to all His promises and He never lies. But why have we not obtained yet the realization of certain promises that we continually claim, like complete healing or the granting of our heart's desires? Why? Because God wants us to take the next higher spiritual step in our ascent to His throne of grace. If the Lord required us to make a leap of faith in some projects or ministry where He directed us before, now He wants us to take the next higher spiritual step up the ladder of spiritual development to His throne of grace. Jacob was shown a vision of angels ascending and descending the ladder between heaven and earth. And that is what the Lord wants us to do. He wants us to make the next higher step in the spiritual ladder that connects heaven and earth and commune with Him in His heavenly abode. Before we can descend that ladder to be a guiding light in the darkness of the world, we have to ascend first God's spiritual stairway to heaven . In the meantime, we have to discard all icons and idols that stand in the way of our complete and perfect relationship with God. Remember, our God is a jealous God and will never countenance any rival to the throne embedded in our hearts and minds.

i've learned my lessons and though i still don't have the answers to my tons of questions, i know God is doing something in my life to serve His purpose. i wait... expectantly, patiently. not my will but God's will be done.

Hi Pinay Mommy Online,
I'm sorry if I cannot do the tag because I already posted it a couple of times before and my old readers will find it quite redundant although I must admit that it is for the Lord. I was also tagged by Rose (Chubskulit) but I also gave the same reason for not doing it. I'm really very sorry and I hope you don't mind. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you always.

Hi sis Pia,
Actually the inspiration for this post came when I was thinking about the situations of Shiela (Bluebirdy) and you. It was an answer I also got for myself and probably for the countless Christians who are awaiting God's realization of His promises in their lives. As it is, God is testing our faithfulness to Him even in very adverse and negative situations. I have surrendered my life long ago to the Lord and has accepted everything that comes from Him, even death if that is my fate. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you always my friend. I am always praying for the realization of your heart's desire.

This post associate me with the text of the Bible 2 Corinthians 12:7-10;

"7 To keep me from becoming Conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, then torment me.

8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.

9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

God bless!

Hi Krystyna,
I must admit this post was inspired by the situations of Shiela (Bluebirdy) and Pia, myself and probably all Christians who are languishing in pain and trials amidst our claims to the promises of the Lord. A weak and still struggling Christian would probably lose heart and begin to doubt the faithfulness of God to keep His promises. Besides the verses you quoted above where God used the thorn in the flesh of Paul to show His incomparable glory, God also use these pains and trials to test His chosen people whether they will stand by Him no matter what or whether they will fall away. This is the next higher step each Christian must take to climb higher in God's staircase to heaven. Thanks for your visit and very inspired comments. God bless you always.

Hi teJan,
That's Romans 8:28, one of my most favorite Bible verses. Thanks for sharing it with us and for your visit as well. God bless you all always.
