The Scourge Of Dengue Fever

There is widespread outbreak of dengue fever in the Philippines right now. It cuts across all provinces and all sectors of society with death rising above the average cases last year. Dengue fever is transmitted through the bite of the aedes aegypti mosquitoes which bite in the morning and before dusk. The symptoms are sudden onset of high fever which may last 2 to 7 days. Joint and muscle pains and pain behind the eyes. Skin rashes or red tiny spots on the skin. Nose bleeding when fever starts to subside. Abdominal pains and vomiting coffee colored matter, as well as dark colored stools. There is no known cure nor vaccine for dengue fever but folks in the provinces subscribe to the efficacy of the tawa tawa herb or gatas gatas. The tawa tawa herbs are boiled and drank by patients every four hours. Others say that papaya leaves pounded into elixir and given to the patients to drink every four hours help build up blood platelets like tawa tawa. Of course the best remedy is prevention.

Hi Arvin,
It looks like dengue fever has spread all over the country, that is why we should be more careful with ourselves and our loved ones. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Bambie dear,
Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

dengue is really SCARY. My eldest contacted dengue 4 years ago and underwent blood transfusion. It took 10 bags of flood to save her platelet count from going down. it felt bad to see your child in sickness while you just look and pray that she be saved. thanks for the nice post!

Hi Shy,
Yes, dengue fever is so widespread that it is scattered all over the archipelago. The sad thing about it is that there is no known antidote for this, at least officially. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Krystina,
Dengue fever is really so widespread in our country and in Southeast Asia too. Must be the effect of the climate change where mosquitoes are more active. There is no official vaccine against dengue fever and many have already died in our country. It is by the grace of God that we are surviving. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Kimmy,
Yes, I understand how you feel. It must have broken your heart to see your child fighting for her dear life while you were so helpless unable to help her. In cases like this, only God can save us from our predicament. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

My mother had dengue too --just recently. But good thing and by the grace of God, she's healed. Also with the help of a Chinese herbal medicine, durian and tawa-tawa. She's just now back to good health.

Hi Meretrisha,
Sobrang widespread na nga ang pagkalat nang dengue fever. Nakakatakot nang talaga. Ingat na lang tayong lahat. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Bingkee,
Wow, I'm so glad to hear that. I have heard about tawa tawa before but this is the first time that I heard that durian can help cure dengue fever. There is really a scare now about the proliferation of dengue fever cases all over the Philippines. Praise the Lord that He healed your mother. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Gagay,
I think this is the worst year for the spread of dengue fever. And the strain keeps getting stronger and stronger. I think there are now four variations of the dengue fever strains. Let us hope and pray that this situation will pass away very soon. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
