Are You A Worry Wart?
Are you a worry wart? If so, you are in deep trouble. Worrying leads to so many diseases like hypertension, ulcer, obesity, anorexia nervosa, sleeplessness, tension reactions, restlessness, loss of appetite, neuralgia, and so many other diseases. It attacks the brain and nerve functions of the body. Excessive worrying can also lead to severe nervous breakdown and weakening of the immune system. At the back of worrying is the fear and dread of something awful that is forthcoming. It is like the proverbial sword of Damocles hanging in the air over our heads.
The antidote to worrying is complete trust in God and in His inherent goodness. Those whose trust in God is intact and solid never worry because they believe in His promise that He will never leave them nor forsake them. Even in the direst situations, when everything seems impossible and we feel the whole weight of the world crushing down upon us, we just have to surrender all our cares and troubles to the Lord and He will lead us to the way of deliverance we never imagined before. Have we not overcome all the severest trials in the past when we put our trust in Him? Surely, He will do it again and give us the peace of mind we so long for. Those whose hearts do not rest on the Lord have only themselves to blame if worrying becomes their normal fare. As it is, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.

I am one of those Kuya, kaya I have so many sleepless nights..
Excellent post Mel! I can attest to God helping me through some difficult experiences like the death of my twin. As the saying goes "Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it does not get you anywhere." You also remind us that it is also no good for our health. Take care and all the best to you.
Hi Rose,
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths" (Romans 8:28)This is the guiding principle in my life so I do not worry. I pass on to God whatever is troubling me and I put my trust in Him. And He never let me down. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
Hi Judy,
You have the insight of a true survivor. Losing one's twin sister is very hard to accept but with your faith in God you were able to overcome that trial. Thanks for your visit, your comments and wishes. I really appreciate that. God bless you always.
There's a reason why a person worry too much, Maybe they experienced something in life that scared them the most. It happened that once to my friend. She was not a worry wart until her husband throws a thing that startled her and scared her. That caused nervous breakdown but when her husband begging for forgiveness it slowly subside though.
You're right surrender everything to the lord and you'll find peace in your heart and mind. Thanks for the post Sir Mel, late visit from Pittsburgh. God bless
isa rin ako diyan..lalo na kapag may ginawang desisyon at alinlangan sa desisyon..balisa talaga..hindi agad makatulog..o kaya may nais tapusin at di pa natatapos..worry talaga na dapat matapos iyon....
Hi Shy,
Yes, you are so right but worrying is still wrong because it causes a lot of damage to the body and soul. Would you believe that most of the modern diseases today are caused by chronic worrying. My mother was a chronic worrier. She was so afraid of anything that she felt was carcinogenic and you know what, she died of a painful cancer of the bones. There is also such a thing as psychogenic disease or disease that was imagined and actualized. I know for it happened to me before. As I said, the antidote to chronic worrying is trusting in the Lord. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
Hi Arvin,
The solution there is to entrust whatever action you will do to God. And God will take care of it til its fruition. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
Good thing my being a worry wart is kind of subtle. Because I want to think it in a positive way because I'm confident that God would not give me trials that I cannot handle.
Hi Umma,
Yes, you are so right. God will never give us a trial that we cannot overcome because with the trial He will also give us sufficient grace to overcome it. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
All the things that are happening to my life is his will and God is always with me and my family.God is great! He was there when I needed him the most!
Hi Clarissa,
Yes, that's a very positive attitude towards God. Yes, God will always be there for us because He promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
humans are worried in every littl thing...family, relationships, finances and etc......kaya most people are depress...sabayan pa nang ibang mga diseases...waaa...hehehe...ang buhay nga naman talaga.
I get worried sometimes lalo na when it comes to my family, but I always lift up my hands to God and ask his guidance...:)
Hi Dhemz,
Yes, you are right. Instead of needless worrying, let us lift up to God our concerns. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
When you know Who He is... You know what He can do. Then, you can have confidence in His love and His power. As you abide in the secret place (Psalm 91), you are safe from all harm.
