For Whom The Bells Toll

"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in
mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the
bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

by Ernest Hemingway
For Whom The Bells Toll

Just recently, one of the most popular action star in the Philippines died at the young age of 56 after battling cancer for two years. Previous to that, the King of Philippine movies died of cerebral stroke even though he was at the pink of his health. The list could go on and on. People with debilitating and dreaded diseases surviving their sicknesses and incredibly living on for an indefinite number of years while people who seemed to be relatively healthy, falling on the wayside.

Only God knows who will go and who will stay. The bells will toll for those they are intended to be tolled for. No amount of money or riches can buy an indefinite extension of one's life. Money may buy human organs to replace malfunctioning ones, but this will only add a few years to the buyer's life. In the end, he has to face the music and go with the ebb and flow of life. For what has been written and destined will be accomplished according to His divine plan. We can only bow our heads and accede to the fact that "for whom the bells toll, it tolls for thee." ARE WE PREPARED TO MEET OUR CREATOR?

yes, my dear Mel. life's too short not to do good deeds whenever possible. it's one reality that no one, however powerful he/she maybe, can get away of. so while there's time, think, act and do good to all. a blessed Sunday to you and your family...

i've always been scared of the idea of death. as i got old, however, i came to realize that death will come any time and anywhere and there's nothing i can do about it. since then, i learned to count my blessings every single day and to appreciate everything around me so that when it's time to meet my Creator, i know i didn't miss anything..

Very true, only God knows who will go and who will stay......ang mga bell noon ay palagay ko may halong ginto ang pagkakagawa....dito sa aming lugar nawala ang bell na kung bumatingting daw ay abot sa malayong lugar ang tunog....nawala na lang iyon....may mga bagay talaga sa loob ng simbahan na ninakaw kasi binebenta ng mahal....kahit sa ibang lugar ay ganun din siguro..

Hi Kimmy,
Yes, death is as inevitable as birth.
We must not be afraid of death especially if we are in good terms with our God. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Arvin,
You are right. Only God knows who will go and who will stay. Bells are not made of gold but of cast iron. They are being stolen because of their sheer weight which can be sold for a lot of money. Many articles are stolen from the church because security is usually lack in churches. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
