Discipline

My wife is working in the US for four years now. I was left alone to take care of our four kids. My eldest and second eldest are both working and my youngest son and our youngest daughter are both studying. I have problems disciplining my three sons for they already have minds of their own and they resent being chastised. My youngest son complained of lbm (loose bowel movement) the other day and said he could not go to school because of that. I left it at that and gave him medicines. Yesterday morning, he acted up again and marooned himself in our toilet for quite sometime, then went upstairs and did not come down again. Since I was busy blogging, I did not notice that he did not leave for school. I was just shocked when I saw him coming down already too late to attend school. I told him that he could not play with the computer for the whole day as punishment for skipping school. After I came back to the house after paying some bills and after going to the market to buy food, I saw him upstairs sound asleep. I felt pity for him and wanted to reassure him and say he could play the computer but I controlled myself knowing that it was for his own good. Then I remember how God could have felt the pain of disciplining us whenever we go astray. How His heart must have bled in compassion for the hurt we are enduring. But like myself with my son, God must withhold stopping the disciplinary actions against us lest He loses us forever. If He did not spare His only Son to save us all, what will He not do to save us from eternal damnation?

Focus On Jesus

FOCUS ON JESUS
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2a). Why are we admonished to fix our eyes on Jesus, and why is He the author and perfecter of our faith? Because Jesus Christ is the embodiment of all the promises of God from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Our mind is very active and we receive countless messages and influences from the outside world, most of which are on the subliminal or the subconscious level. The prevailing moods and mindsets of those around us affect us in more ways than we can ever imagine. Sometimes we feel irritable and moody where there is no logical reason for it. Sometimes lustful thoughts just flash in our minds like grease lightning and if we are not careful, seeds of sin will be implanted in our minds to germinate later on. Sometimes our minds wander off to a distant past and resurrect ghosts of old pains and hurts thus resurrecting the spirit of bitterness in our hearts and minds. To counteract all these negative tendencies, we focus our minds on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. There is always an appropriate verse or promise of God to counteract all negative thoughts. In times of scarcity, when our minds are diverted to thoughts of lack and poverty, we can always recite Philippians 4:19 to picture God's divine providence in our lives. "But my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). It is best to memorize key Biblical verses that we can use to counteract all the attacks of the enemy and any negative developments in our lives.

My Journey Of Pain

It is beginning again, my journey of pain. I am suffering again pain in my lower back because of acute scoliosis of the lumbar 4. To those who knew me just recently, I was supposed to be operated in my spinal column at my lower back because of the collapse of my lumbar 5 to my lumbar 4 due to deteriorating scoliosis. That was almost 4 years ago before my wife went to the US to work. Aside from my spinal column, I was also supposed to be operated for acute hernia and prostate gland and for inflammation of my thyroid gland. But because my wife had to surrender her medical card because of her resignation from work, I decided that I would not undergo said operations for lack of money. Since then, I surrendered my life and health to the Lord. I survived almost 4 years of those illnesses plus my hypertension and diabetes. Two years ago, I had this terrible and excruciating pain in my lower back that rendered me almost immobile and caused so much extreme pain that I almost ended my life if not for the fear of the Lord and my being a Christian. Three days later the pain left by the grace and mercy of the Lord. I have been in and out of the portals of death so many times that I lost count already. But in all these trials, I always left my fate to God who have been so gracious to me. Now I live just by the grace of God and I offer my pains as a burnt offering to His all encompassing glory. In life and death, I will always love and serve the Lord. If I can just bring one more soul to the Lord to be saved, then my life would never be in vain. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). TO GOD BE THE GLORY NOW AND FOREVERMORE.

End Of Summer Clearance Sale Of Christmas Trees

It is now nearing the end of summer and soon we will be ushering again the advent of the Christmas season after autumn. There will be so much joy, cheer, warmth and peacefulness during the yuletide season. Part of the Christmas celebration is the setting up of our very own Christmas trees in our homes where the world outside celebrate the yuletide season in joy and revelries. As we gather around our Christmas trees, the children eagerly anticipate the opening of their respective gifts and toys given to them by their parents and of course by Santa Claus.

Right now, we can avail ourselves of an end of summer sale to buy our artificial Christmas trees where prices are at an economical and way down below season prices. You can choose from among a wide variety of these Christmas trees to suit your own need and budget. These trees give a certain glow to one's house characterized by warmth and peacefulness inside. It is as if you are witnessing the very first Christmas story in Bethlehem.

Christmas evokes memories of fun and laughter as people, especially kids, play and frolic in the snow. There are so many rides and games that people do during winter times. Children build snowmen and engage in frivolous snow ball fights. To represent the celebration of a white Christmas, people love to buy white Christmas trees where the white color of the elegant Christmas tree symbolizes the purity, fun and excitement of the joyful celebration of Christmas. We can hear sleigh bells as kids travel downhill from some yonder slopes shouting gleefully from excitement and sheer exhilaration. We can also hear the melodious voices of church choirs as they sing their favorite Christmas carols. And of course, every kid is delighted to open his boxes of presents from his parents and from Santa too. That is the joy that our beautiful Christmas tree can bring to our lives during the yuletide season.

Heart Of Worship

HEART OF WORSHIP
When we go to church to hear mass or to a Christian church to attend our fellowship service with the Lord, we do all things to prepare ourselves. We come in our Sunday's best. We choose the choicest seats in the church and acknowledge the presence of other church goers. We listen in rapt silence as the priest celebrates the mass or as the pastor delivers his soul moving sermon. We are thrilled to sing praise and worship songs to the Lord. But have we forgotten something? Have we forgotten the heart of worship? The reason why we are in the church, hearing mass or celebrating fellowship together with other Christians, is the very essence of our spiritual relationship with the Lord. We must never forget the sole and real heart of worship and that is, focusing our hearts, mind and soul to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He is the sole heart of worship. We must never leave the church without being filled with the Holy Spirit as we commune with God and feel the intimacy of His wondrous relationship with us. We must realize the full potential of our sonship of God and being co-heir with Jesus Christ of the kingdom of the Father. We must seek that intimacy with God, feeling His very presence in our hearts as we sing from our heart and soul our love, yearnings and aspirations in an intimate communing with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We go home filled with so much joy and bursting with the fruit of the Holy Spirit as though we are walking on thin air. Yes, whenever we go to church, we must never forget the heart of worship who is Jesus Christ.

Hear this song and receive a special blessing in your life.

Heart Of Worship - Michael W. Smith

Contentment

CONTENTMENT
Contentment is living a life totally surrendered to the Lord. Circumstances will not bother us because we know that our God will take care of all our needs. We learn to become happy and content in moments of plenty and scarcity because we know that all these things shall pass, even temporary adversities and trials. Not that we will just fold our arms and wait for the blessings of God to fall down on our laps. We must always do our best to provide for our needs but expectant of God's divine providence in our lives. God will always make a way for us even in the most impossible situations, for He is a loving Father, ever loving and gracious to His beloved children. Did He not admonish us not to worry what we shall eat or wear for He feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field whose beauty surpasses all the pomp and pageantry of Solomon's wardrobes? Remember how Jesus fed the five thousand in the wilderness with five loaves of bread and two fishes? And how God rained down manna and quails to the Jews during their desert trek? Let us live simple lives, fearing the Lord and walking in His ways. For the Lord who created the whole universe and countless of galaxies, who created the earth and everything in it, shall never let us suffer deprivation if we obey His will and walk in His ways. Living a simple life and thanking God for all the blessings we receive gives us a life of pure contentment.
