Divine Providence

Have you ever been so financially short in your life that you worried about where you will get your next meal? Do you find it harder and harder to make both ends meet? Do you always find yourself always in debt and your expenses always outstrip your earnings? Do you sometimes feel like your pocket has holes in it and that money is so easily lost? Have you worked yourself to death only to find out you still have no security for your future? Stop for a moment and survey your life, your thoughts and your philosophies in life. We must first accept that money will never be enough. As long as we are slaves to our cravings for material things, then we will always be short of everything. We must first take stock of ourselves, what we can do, the talents we have, what we are good at, the connections we have, the opportunities on hand and how we value money in our lives.

The Lord said that by the sweat of our brows shall we live. That means all must work to earn a decent living. Paul said in the Bible that, "those who do not work will not eat." So God taught us the value of hard work and honest living. But He also taught us to pray for our daily bread. He did not say for our weekly, monthly or yearly bread because God wants us to focus on our immediate needs and entrust the future to Him.

We must acknowledge first that every good thing comes from God and God will always help those who help themselves. We must live simple lives always contented with what we have and always expectant of the very best from our heavenly Father. He said, we must seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things else will be added to us. We must first enrich ourselves with heavenly treasures before we strive for worldly treasures. Those who seek only the riches of the world at the expense of their soul will find death so terrifying because they are so bankrupt of the riches of heaven. Trust the Lord and His divine providence. "BUT MY GOD WILL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS." (Philippians 4:19)

I am finding that even though me and my wife are so poor living from one pay check to the next as when it comes to money, that we are actually very rich, due to the fact that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior!!! This richness of joy that He fills us with, makes us feel richer than what I can describe into words!!!

God's blessings to you!!!

Yes ...tighter all the time.

Frustrated that health has interfered with working. We were always 2 paycheck family. I was offered jobs I turned down because I was afraid of relapse and sure enough ..I relapsed with the constricted ureter.

Now I have decided ...no more fear and thanking God for healing regardless of symptoms and beginning to look for work. But not much out there. So I am praying for right job at right time where i can be a blessing and be blessed. Hopefully soon.

I am grateful for the good in our lives and how God carries us through the tough times. Missing my friend so much tho ...even tho I know where she is and is happier than we can imagine on this side of heaven.

As always ...an excellent post Mel.

Thank you and God bless you and your family. :)

I experienced that kind of life before Sir Mel, but the only difference was, nagkakautang ako kasi ginagastuhan ko sister ko sa college tapos may mga needs pa ako na gusto bilhin ayon, loan dyan, loan dito. buti nlng single pa ako so hindi masyadong pressure isipin pag walang pera tapos i have friends whom i can lend money anytime. pero everytime I experienced those hard times i learned something din. pag savings talaga hindi ako pabor nung single pa hehe. Nung mag bahay bahayan din ako super dami ko rin utang nun pero i know god is with me. ang mahirap if you're financially short tapos you have family and mouths na nag depend sayo. Thanks for the post. sorry now lng nakavisit, walang computer monitot kasi nasira, sa gabi lng ako makakapag online kasi nakikigamit sa puter ng mister to update the blogs and FB na rin hehhehe. thanks sa mga visits and comments Sir Mel. godbless

Hi Shy,
Yes, I am more or less familiar with your life when you were still single and how you bought a house before. Through all these, you have learned valuable lessons in life which have served you well now that you are already married. You can focus your attention on your kids who are dependent on you. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

honestly, i am ALWAYS financially short, lol! years ago, I always worry about bills, everyday expenses, children's education and a lot more. then, i got tired of worrying until i stopped worrying altogether. because through the years, there was something i noticed, my family never fails to eat on time. so i learned to trust the Lord with my whole heart. as long as I work hard, he would never let me and my family starve.. Thanks for the post..

Hi Kim,
That's the very idea. God help those who help themselves. We just don't lie around and expect God to provide for all our needs. We also have to work for it. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
